Good job on the pictures and capturing the contrast stitching. I pony'd up for that on my car and I really like it. It is subtle but classy. Very nice choices!

Thanks all ! I was surprised how good the black stock wheels actually looked on the car. I didn't have very high expectations for them.

I had some lingering concerns about the contrast stitching appearance, if it would be too orange or too strong of a color, but I am extremely happy with how it came out, and definitely makes the interior feel that much nicer.

Couldn't have done any of this (from the car to the trip) without the Bimmerpost forum, so thumbs up to all of you

Amazing pictures and even better spec'ed M3! As I have posted before... Got excited when Singapore Grey came out in the M6 line prior to the F80/82 model launch. Said that would be my color! Then the F colors came out and we got regular non M model grey and black (argh!) and I didn't want more than a 7 week wait (or part with $5k for a color that should be standard on M's) so I went with Sahkir Orange. Great transmission choice you made too!

Great color, great car, great writeup. Seems like a hell of a trip. Some stunning photos in there as well! Glad that the idea to enter nav GPS coordinates came in handy - I found that to be by far the best way to get exactly where I wanted to go. Thanks for taking the time to write this up....some ideas....

Nice writeup! I saw your thread before... but I thought I would give you a "free" bump!

Btw... I think you confused Grenoble with Annecy, France near Geneva(CH). Annecy is a wonderful little city! These pics bellow(yours), I am pretty sure are of Annecy...

Ya probably wasn't clear in my writeup but I remember the two clearly because Annecy was pretty much closed up off-season (literally no where to eat dinner) so we just walked around and took some pics of the canal that you quote above.. then headed to our hotel in Grenoble for dinner (ended up being a great decision because the French bistro there was awesome food for a reasonable price).

Thx for the bump BTW ;P

Cool. Well.. here is another "free" bump.

I've never been to Grenoble... maybe when I go to Geneva this year I will check it out. Annecy is also known as the "Pearl of French Alps" and the "Venice of the Alps". I very much like the town.

Annecy is part of the Savoy area of France(now). I had not realized that until I was walking around Annecy and kept seeing all these Savoy tourist "stuff".

take care,
Dackel
