Power seat coding question

So always been lurking on this board..just picked up a M4 from another forum owner here last November...first new car in years...last one was from 1998...

So the previous owner had it coded (not sure if correct term) but basically the usual popular codes. One thing that stopped working after the first week was the seat sliding back feature. I adjusted the seat and saved it in the memory but now when I turn off the car the seat does not slide back like it did before....

Any suggestions or ideas...

Thanks

When you adjusted the seat to suit your comfort, did that require you to move it back? If I remember correctly the code is written so that the seat will move back X amount from last location. HOWEVER, the seat needs to remain Y amount from the end of rail. Hope that makes sense and both X and Y values can be adjusted via coding.

If you had to move your seat back it may be too close to end of rail already causing it not to move. May try moving the seat up and see if you get it to work again.

I've got a cheat code in the repo to reduce the distance from limit that is the max rearward travel, and I'm guessing that's all you would need.

There is a bounce-back-on-resistance feature but if you've got sometime fragile behind the seat, you could break it.

Line 308 at time of writing: https://github.com/packetpilot/bmw-f...acketpilot.xml

Code:
