I did 30 minutes of back to back laps at Thunderhill West, lots of braking, turns, gear shifts, etc.

Did probably 100 laps that day (private track day). I spent a lot of money on fuel, lol - but car gave me no issues. Drove home comfortably after swapping back street pads and tires.

Need more information here and I want to see a report with a production vehicle. What were the codes?? There's a video of the Nburg lap, seemed to run fine there?

M3 plug: I did 50ish minutes of non-stop lapping at NCM this spring. I almost ran out of gas and I had to modulate the tires, but the car was solid as ever. Impressive.

I did 7 sessions (20min each) at Laguna Seca last week and the car ran rock solid throughout the entire day. No sign of overheating of any sort. Couldn't be happier! Only upgrades I had was SRF brake fluid, RS29 pads, camber plates, and NT01s.

have any of you bay area folks done Thunderhill in July, August or September when ambient temps are ~100F? If so, any issues?

Other forum threads point to no issues, but I was curious about folks who have driven at Thunderhill in the summer.

Thanks in advance

Edit: i've been meaning to ask the edge guys next time i see them out w/ there with the edge taxi

Prior to doing my brake cooling mods I couldn't get more than three fade-free laps at Monza. After the brake cooling mods I think I could pound around for 50 minutes until the car started crying about low fuel.

At the first day of Schnell Fest, ran 7 sessions while it was uppers 80's to almost 90 towards the end of the day, car was rock solid, temp gauge didn't budge at all from street temps. M3 = stout.

Will say that I did see fuel mileage go WAY down as it got hotter, tchiers and I think the car's solution to avoid possible detonation was to dump more fuel (richening the mixture) on the problem.

The STi with a S2 tune did the same thing, could use almost 2/3's a tank in that car in a 25 minute session if temps got over 90. At the end of the day when it was really hot, the F80 was burning half a tank a session compared to like a quarter in the morning.

Yeah, that makes sense. At ACS with ambient temps in the 80s, each session would burn half a tank.
