That looks like it could do a small pull trailer for tools and 4 wheels. Reading the capacities and weight limits, it should easily be able to do that.

Lighting would probably be the limiting factor there, without throwing all sorts of electronics codes.

All retarded remarks about 'mud flaps' and 'lift kits' aside, this is exactly why I installed a hitch on my M. I have a small trailer, with a mounted tool box and enough room for 4 race wheels/tires to stand next to each other across the trailer. Perfect for track days.

As an added benefit, my 1 1/4" hitch bike rack fits great and I can take my mountain bike on it without having to worry about putting the seat down and fitting my bike in the trunk. Also, no worries about the bike on the roof (sea sucker mount or not) with accidentally driving in the garage and ruining the bike and the car roof, and the garage.

Still haven't figured out how to do the lighting on the trailer yet, though.

I'm raising this thread from the dead.

Has anyone else installed hitch on their F80/F82? I have an M4 on the way and I'm deciding between a hitch like this vs. the seasucker bike rack.

As alluded to in my last post, I have the same hitch on my M4 and have found it to be very useful. I believe you may have already found the thread I made about it, but if not, here it is

Glad that works for you. It's not the solution I need.

I just tried to put the hitch on my M4 today....15hrs later all is done except the diffuser center. I had to do a bunch of grinding on the back of the hitch tongue so it would clear the MPE can. I got a 1/8in gap and was hoping it would be enough. Didn't do enough I guess when the system heats up the can rides hard on the hitch. Not what I want a $4k exhaust to do......back to the drawing board
