How much did you mod your leased car?

for my previous leased cars, I keep the mods limited to consumables (i.e. tires and brake pads) and drive them hard / take them to HPDE

lol... about $40000 so far. Mods in my sig are just my performance mods. There's a lot of exterior ones as well.

My G37 was a lease. Had about 20k into it all said and done. Mostly cosmetics and suspension. I takes exhaust. Molded lip on front bumper. Cf hold roof cap and trunk. Custom headlights. Custom air ride setup.

Put the whole thing back to stock. Sold all the parts and turned it in. Only got hit with $355 for curbed rims and a scratch.

It all depends on the aftermarket market for how crazy you can go. If it's something you can take off and sell down the road then do it.

Haha I have followed your build since day one. I am thinking I am going to buy mine out too. I mean I cannot stop driving it. I mean 20 plus MPG and the mods they are coming out with are just to tempting.

if you're asking because you want to know what's allowed in the contract (by BMWFS) the answer is nothing. The risk is if you get into an accident and can't remove the parts before the car is inspected. Everybody has to judge the downside-risk for themselves ....

For me, I've had at least cosmetics, intake, exhaust, and a tune on every car I've leased for the last 10 years save the one I have now ... and that's because this car looks good enough and drives good enough stock that for the crew and the places I run, I really don't need more than the M4 stock. It'd be nice, but week after week I get back from a run and think "eh, maybe next month".

So my overall point in starting the thread, rather than just listing a bunch of mods that you did, was, did you do mods with the idea that you knew you were spending a ton on your leased car and plan on taking them off and selling them before you turn it in? Are you going to buy out the lease now that you have a ton of money into it? Or will you just turn it in with some of those parts on there and just eat the cost?

Most people take them off and sell them or give them away.
