I had JRZ RS2 before which were great. Once I've put the MCS through their paces I will report back with details. Overall I think the JRZ RS Pro are quite comparable however I decided to with MCS because they're a local aka US shop and rebuilds/ service support and turnaround is better and closer to home..

For JRZ everything needs to always go back to Netherlands for proper rebuilds.[/QUOTES

JRZ have a few authorized rebuilders in SoCal. Frank Chen in Torrance CA is one. Congrats on the new suspension.

Not yet. I'm actually going to try today and see if I can mount them over top of the headlights. If I can't then I'll wrap them in foil and re-mount them to the CF strut brace.

You're welcome
I ordered some heat foil wrap... Will wrap mine too

850f/700r, wow that seems pretty stiff. Mines are 550f/400r.
OP, have you had any problem with the rear spring clearing the swaybar?

Yeah I had softer springs on my jrz before and wanted something much stiffer this time.. This car is slowly turning into my serious track weapon and I don't really care about street manners.

No issues clearing sway bar so far.. Did have to get shorter sway bar end links tho..

You can mount the F cans above the headlights - just like in the link below:
http://f80.bimmerpost.com/forums/sho...20&postcount=1

I think both locations - above headlights or on CF strut brace - will work just as well. I mounted the Moton cans on my e46 M3 in basically the same locations in the engine bay as the MCS cans mounted on the f8x M3/4 CF strut brace and never ran into loss of damping performance over 45 min track sessions on 95+ F summer days.

I just finished my canister install, which was a huge pain in the ass, but it turned out nice I think

Had to build some custom brackets, but not too terrible.

They are mounted just behind the wheel wells next to the front radiator.

Absolutely gorgeous work but doesn't that just make it harder for adjustability?

Agreed. I've gone into the pits and made suspension adjustments in the past. It would be impossible to make quick suspension adjustments during a session with the cans mounted in the front wheel wells behind plastic covers. The front wheels have to be removed every time you want to adjust front compression settings. Also, I wonder how hot the cooler gets (radiant and conductive heat) and how much heat gets trapped behind the wheel well cover?

Actually, you don’t. There is enough room to pull the two screws for the wheel wells and then adjust them as necessary. You simply turn the wheels to one side to get them out of the way.

I did this for a clean install. And in my experience, I don’t change the suspension settings very often once I have it setup. Usually have a setup for each track.

But really, I didn’t like any of the other placements.

Why have adjustable dampers if you don't adjust for changing track conditions (green vs. rubbered track), weather (wet vs. dry), temperature (cold vs. hot), etc.? Track conditions are always changing and suspension changes are needed to get the most out of a track on a given day.

I’ve found that I change it for the given track I’m on, but I haven’t felt the need to change it during the day as the conditions change. The suspension doesn’t have that granular of adjustment (and I typically run full Motorsport JRZs). I adjust for conditions via tire pressure and driver feedback, etc.

Also, on the new RS Pros, you have to jack up the rear to adjust rebound. It’s no longer inside the car. So a little extra work to change compression on the front isn’t a big deal. If I need to make an adjustment, I’ll do it between sessions.

Hi guys,

If you guys get a chance to measure this when you are changing brake pads I would appreciate it. I'd like to run a 6" spring and want to see what this would look like.

I'll try ... I have a track day coming up and need to switch 'em out..

BTW these coilovers have basically blown my knickers off!! .. The car feels absolutely mindblowing at the track! Too busy doing track days to post a detailed review yet.

So helper is about 1/4" compressed. How far from the top of the shock is your adjuster?

Does that hose fitting on the bottom of the MCS swivel?

It's fixed on my JRZ RS Pro setup, which is why it rubs the sway bar end link when turning (at the extremes)

Yes, the hose fitting does swivel.
