Carbon seats that won't be available for US most definitely.

Lame, if this is how they are shedding weight. Including parts that we will never be able to option.

Didn't we get stiffed on the M5 and M6's good seats as well?

Edit: We also don't get the sport seats on the standard F10.

If they aren't available as an option, we'll be able to get them through a aftermarket vendor.

I am sure those seats are a substantial weight savings. That will surely be used in their marketing efforts. In the current M3, Pole Positions save 40lbs per seat.

Sure?
Both cars are right-hand-drive and it seems like they have the same number plate ... how great is the possibility that the only spied F80 with this camoflage status are all right-hand drive white cars.
I think there is an much greater possiblity that in one case the color was simply misinterpretated!?

+1. These spy pictures grabbed my wife's attention. Hard to do from BMW these days - as she's been drooling over recent Audi's.

I don't understand why this is "lame"... I mean who's guilty of being lame, US Safety Regulations that says we can't have seats that don't conform to safety standards or BMW, who would like us to have those seats but can't because saftey regulations makes it too prohibitive? I think the M3 is shaping up rather nicely and the seats will be a definite plus but not a deal breaker. And if this is one approach to saving weight then so be it...you can't please everybody.

The i3 is full of CFRP including the passenger cell and it's about half the price of an M3. Just saying.

Its lame if the M3 ends up being 100-150lbs lighter than the 335i sedan. But 75-80lbs of that are in seats we can't get.

BMW, I like it. Keep adding the CF parts and don't screw up the EPS steering. That would be a deal breaker.
