Update! Update! Update! Touch of Euro

I have managed to put 500 very enjoyable miles on the GTS and I felt like it's time to start putting some new items on the car. Some recent updates include the following,

Sticker City full body Xpel in matte finish
RKP wing riser in black
OEM fire extinguisher
OEM Carbon Fiber bucket seats
iND Cosmetics front reflectors, black outer roundels and rear M4GTS trunk badge in gloss black

Of course a thumbs up to Ben Fletcher photography!

Stunning. Some will have likes/dislikes about your treatment, but I like all of the details. Are you going to install harnesses? Are you going to track it? Great work.

Side question - where'd you get the seats, and did you shell out $15k for them?

Great photos! When you had the seats installed, what level of reprogramming was required? Was there any disucussion/disclosure that the installation of the seats would void the warranty?

Thanks,
Mike

Mike, I have been modifying cars for many many years and there has never been a clause for seats to void any type of manufacturer warranty especially when the seats are coming from the manufacturer. The seats feel incredible and coding the airbag light was super simple, these aren't any different then when BMW was selling the Performance seats often used on the E9X platform.

+1. On the liability/insurance side, if you (not you specifically, but in general terms) got hurt in an accident and didn't have the factory installed/approved seats (i.e. No side impact airbags), I wonder how quick your insurer would be to deny a claim. It'd be a fun legal fight, but there'd likely be a pretty decent argument on an insurer's end that due to modifying the vehicle's safety systems, you were more hurt or more dead ()than you ought to have been.

Anyway... enough positive talk. Back to your GTS.

Felix you mention that you were able to acquire the seats from the manufacture. If so do you mind sharing how since I have inquired many times not recently to the dealership and they are not available. Now I remember from another post that you may have acquired them from CheckCaptain. If so excellent! Just wanted clarification and not get my hopes up if they were available from dealership. Thanks in advance.

I found they had one set left at the time via Ralf member on the forum and he was able to secure it for me. Pretty much received the seats 4 days later and I couldn't be happier, I feel as though now it really completed the interior. Definitely should have come this way from factory for the U.S vehicles too.

Did you look at IND? they also can get the EURO seats but for 15k. How much did Ralph sell them to you?

I'll let him chime in if he wants but from the time I purchased to now I've heard there is a price increase so the iND price is more accurate for today's market adjustment.

The best thing I like about this car are the OLED lights! I wish we could retrofit them on the standard M4s

You can! Taillight assembly isn't cheap but the coding can be done by Alex.
