What ever it takes to get out some info, we all cant sit in the garage do excel sheet dok. as your selfe and try to tell the world aero is of no effect whatever the setting on GTS. Difference on you and me is I can relate to all these diffrent test of GTS in ways you never could. Reason I drive it on tracks.

Yeah, and he depicts and characterizes every journalist who didn't really care for the performance of the car as "bad drivers who lack set-up experience", and he goes on these long tirades in an attempt to justify the car and his purchase. It's like telling the gun journalist who shoots for a living and has shot EVERYTHING (...and tested every scope, red dot, trigger assembly, etc.) under the sun for years/decades that they can't shoot and don't know how to dial/zero in optics and adjust for elevation and windage.

Its a solid preformer thinking of its low new price.

Based on the Sachsenring and Hockenheim tests Captain places so much faith in, it seems the obvious choice is the Corvette Z06. A vastly superior sports car to the M4 GTS for at least $40,000 cheaper.

Looks like M4 GTS can even beat the OLD Z06 around the Nurburging. Those are under $50,000 right now.

When I turned down my allocation 10 mos ago, I was LITERALLY taking a dump at the Viceroy Snowmass when they called and had 1 hour to decide if I was going to pull the trigger on the GTS. Having seen the car and its specs, I decided to pass and let someone else have my allocation. After seeing this thread, I know I made the right decision! What a great miss!

Of course everyone will come on and say how much money they flipped their car for and how much their car is worth and how much money they are going to make in a few years but I'm glad I dodged this bullet. What a turd!

Weren't CCBs a complete waste of money until they were put on the almighty GTS!

Being a sedan is only a valid excuse/trade off when you have a functional back seat

As it stands, it has no back seat and the C6 Z06 trunk has 30% move volume (17 cubic feet for the f30, 22.4 for the C6)

I went to the trouble to convince my dealer to beg for an voucher for me, but when I saw the orange wheels and awesomeness of the 911R and 570S, which I was also cross shopping and alo had allocations for, I said no thanks.

I find it so hard to take the comments posted here seriously. I also find it really hard not to be defensive....

You only miss on the fact that the build quality, design and interior finishing is playmobil like... You make it sound like laptimes are the sole thing to care about, whereas that is far from the case for most people buying this type of cars. It's about the general experience. And I can tell you first hand that the gts is one damn experience :-) Whatever Clarkson tells you. It's spot on for a certain crowd, hits every button for me. As we all know, in this type of car on a trackday, laptimes depend mostly about the driver, not the car. And I would prefer to be 1" slower in the GTS to being fastest in a ZO6 :-)

Does anyone have a new argument to make? You can say that about most cars that cost over 100K.

Talk to Z06 owners who tried to track their cars...most got rid of the Z06 real fast due to overheating issues. GT350r is about the same speed as the GTS and motor is to die for, but they went for well above MSRP as well (can't wait to see what they ask for the race model). Grand Sport is humiliating virtually all super cars at the moment, not just the GTS. Why buy a mclaren 570s when you can go faster in a grand sport....why buy a NSX, why buy a GT3RS, why buy a Huracan.....
