Estimated Build/Delivery Date?

Hello all. I put the deposit down 2 months ago for an F82 build and as of today, my car is still in the order bank with a week 41 build date. I still have not been assigned a production number despite tomorrow being the first day of week 41. I live in the Midwest United States. Can any of you that are familiar with the entire process give me an estimate as to when I will be assigned a production number and when to expect the build to began and the final delivery to my dealership to take place?

If your dealership had an allocation, you should have gotten your production number the day you put down your deposit. Allocation = Production number.

Without a production number, you don't have a car or an allocation. You need to contact your dealer and ask them what your production number is. If they can't tell you, then you were never given an allocation and all you have right now is basically an IOU written on a napkin. :/

When I shopped around for my car, I asked dealers immediately if they had an allocation. Once I found some that did I price shopped and went with the best deal. I put down my deposit and signed the order and had my production number within hours.

edit: one more note, the build week is the week the car is scheduled to FINISH production. Allocations have a production week attached to them even before they are sold to a customer, so you should not only be able to get your production number right away but also the tentative/scheduled build week. A week 41 allocation would have started production last week. I knew my production week was 37 the moment I got my production number.

They had an allocation and did not have a production number as of today.

I'm going to be having a serious discussion with the dealership's general manager on Monday.

Then they didn't have an allocation. Very shortly after the allocation gets assigned to a customer in dealerspeed (you put your deposit down and they enter your information into dealerspeed into the allocation) you are assigned a production order number. Usually happens within a few minutes to a few hours at most.

Here is a picture of my order the day I put my deposit down. I got the number a few hours after they entered it into the system. (I blurred out the production number).

Just checked my order sheet. At the time in August it was status 46 - no quota available. It was in status 111 today just like yours was in that photo. Maybe they're confused as to the number I was requesting? Maybe they thought I was asking for a VIN.

Either way, their handling of my order is quite underwhelming.

Ok so status 46 means they didn't have an allocation. But they must have gotten one between then and now, since you are now status 111, and it means you do have a production number (it's 7 numbers long).

Take your production number and call BMW GENIUS on monday and ask them what your build week is. 1.844.4GENIUS (443-6487)

But I can tell you that since you're still 111 your build week must be end of the month, otherwise you'd be 112 by now.

I wonder if there are any BMW dealers here on the forums that might be able to access the BMW dealer network and see if there is a production number? Waiting until Monday is going to be excruciatingly full of anxiety as this information comes as quite a surprise given what my dealership has told me.

Just so you know, if a dealer had an allocation you should have gotten a production # in a day or two upon making a deposit

I left a deposit for December ED on early september, got a production # the same day, see my order status 111

Obvously my car wont go into production til november but still received a production #

No one can look you up except your dealership, because you don't have a production number. If you don't have a production number/allocation then you're only in YOUR dealership's system.

So not only did they make sure the allocation issue was corrected, I got to use DSCNet myself to ensure the order was to my exact specifications. I should have my new baby sometime in November!

Talk about a Sales Advisor going the extra mile to ensure I get my car promptly!
