Does not sound like it. I now have 2017-1, but it was dealer installed. Wondering if by chance any of the coding could have messed up the OTA function. I think that is doubtful, but wonder if anyone that left their car coding free is having the same issue. They did reprogram the navigation system so I lost all my "warning delete", DVD in motion, and such, but was waiting to recode until I gave 2017-2 a chance to come through. Sounds to me like the bottom line is OTA is not very reliable.....even if a good idea in principle.

I can't get any connected Drive apps to work. Lost my OTA on maps also. dealership has no clue how to fix it, did a software update and still nothing.
How do you update manually? |

only the dealer can install them manually, they would prepare a USB stick with some FSC code for your car then do the update, takes about 15 mins

I wish there were a way to do it. Although since you only get one region I really think the OTA updates are something of a gimmick. I guess I will just update mine once a year the "old fashioned way". I use waze most of the time and if BWM gave me a way to just project waze onto my NAVI I would be happy. Still like to have the system somewhat up to date though.
I left the vehicle "un-coded" after the Nav software was re-installed to see if the coding might have killed the OTA but here we are a month later with no 2017-2 for my region pushing so I will chalk it up to a very buggy update system. I don't even see a place in BMWConnect to renew the OTA capability. Guessing it will either show up once my subscription expires....or maybe not. I think I have wasted way too much brain power and too many trips to the dealership for this already

At the dealer now. SA advised they are waiting on Connected Drive in Germany for an answer. My gut tells me they don't have a fix / don't care. We will see, I told them they could have it a few more days

Got car back upgraded to 2017-2. Service advisor advised fix for OTA is:
Program vehicle to the latest integration level - F020-17-07-505 Luckily it didn't effect other software or settings, just the Nav :-) I'll report back if OTA's start coming in. |

That was supposedly one of the new features of the 2017 M4, never worked for me on my 2017 M4 and now I have the 2018 but am already on map version 2017-2 so I'm not sure if it will work when there is an update

My SA said it was definitely a Connected Drive issue and that is who they contacted in Germany for the fix. Unforntuately, they still had to perform Nav and Software updates to the car. Hell if this doesn't work my Connected Drive service is going to expire before they get a fix. Not cool paying for a STANDARD FEATURE that doesn't work
