Demxsr M4 preview: MG goes Satin Pearl Nero
Featured on BIMMERPOST.com This is the last pic before she was backed into the garage and went under the knife. So far what's been done... Wrap: Avery Satin Pearl Nero Gloss Black grille surround 15mm Match Schnell all around OBDII CAN Flap In the mail... Black side gills Mineral Grey reflectors (will be wrapped, and I'll probably keep reflectors in the back) AWE Resonated Switchpath 102mm, Diamond black Gloss black M4 badge AWE F82 S-FLO Carbon Intake Carbon diffuser Keyhole cap I also have M-performance style carbon skirts, carbon lip / splitters, and spoiler sitting in the garage. But I'm going to wait till the exhaust and diffuser come in to install those. Once I get those pieces on I'll update with better pictures in a better location. Sorry these are crap phone pics just from my driveway. But I figure some might be interested to see what this color looks like on our car. Last edited by Demxsr; 10-30-2015 at 05:44 PM.. |

Beautiful. MG has got to be one of the best colors in a satin wrap. Can't wait to see everything come together.
RichyRich is gonna cry when he sees this. One question... Did you wrap over the rear quarter panel film? |

To be clear, none of the Mineral grey color is coming through. The color is 100% the wrap. For example, if you were to do a Mineral White car with this wrap it'd be the same color as you see here. They do really look similar though. I'm guessing due to the "pearl" aspect of this vinyl it gives it a color similar to MG. I could be wrong, and I've never seen it in person. But I believe this wrap gives a brighter shine from light compared to a frozen paint protection wrap over MG. |

I didn't want to spend the time peeling it off, and have to deal with any potential marks that process would leave behind. Also, when I feel like running with MG again, I can just peel the wrap off and that protection film will still be there. I won't be so quick to do that though, considering it took me ~130 hours to put this stuff on.

Get ready for a ton of attention! I'm loving how your car came out! We're twins....except mine is frozen black.

God that's really pretty. How difficult is it for someone who's never done a wrap? I know it's time consuming but is it actually hard to make it look good?

This look sick, like a Batmobile! I'd say this requires tons of patience and experience. Nice contrast with the silver wheel which are rare on MG.

for the most part 95% of the surface area is easy to do. The edge work took me around the same time as it took laying a panel. I had to keep in mind that there is diminishing returns with the time you put into it. You get to the point where you are tucking the wrap into a place that can't really be seeing. So you need to decide if having a little crease there is going to bother you, or if you want to spend the extra time making those areas perfect. |

It's just been killing me that I haven't been able to drive it for a week! Since I want to wait for those damn reflectors and side markers to come in before I put the the wheel wells back in |

Well kudos to you! 19hrs on a piece, that's some patience and dedication. I never thought people wrapped their cars, aside from xpel. Really looks special, I'd say almost like the frozen OEM cars. How did you get to wrap around the front side fenders? Or other areas that you can't have access to the inside?

Haha no, I've only received good attention. Usually a couple of people surrounding the car, touching it, shrugging their shoulders asking is it wrapped or is it paint. Get ready for fingerprints too. People for some reason love to touch it the matte to see what it feels like.

Hey OP, how did you remove the side mirrors? Did you have to take off the interior door panel to get access or just the tweeter cover? |

I would NEVER have the patience to do this! The slightest imperfection would drive me crazy and I would never truly finish my car. I'd rather just get it painted frozen from the beginning and be done with it because it's quicker.
