You’d think the Cobo Center would have turned into one of these ruins by now:
http://www.weather.com/travel/modern...hotos-20130715

Me and my colleagues had walked through a part of downtown Detroit after a Tigers’ ballgame near Comerica Park at midnight few years ago. There was not a soul or any vehicular traffic in sight within several blocks. The place looked absolutely deserted, and it was so quiet it was really eerie…

Anyhow, I will be traveling to the show next Saturday for the first day of the public show. Rest assured I will be roaming around the BMW booth quite a bit, provided that the M3, M4, and M235i will be on display for the public show unlocked and not placed on one of those raised rotating platforms…or I’ll be spending more time in the MB booth

New generations of cars really struggling to do something new and exciting over previous design. It is evidently a very hard thing to do at this point. I do not understand why next generation of cars have to continually get bigger though? I didn't consider the E92 because it had gotten so big, and now this even bigger. So the next generation M3 will be bigger than E60?? Yuck

It is obviously to make room for the 1 and 2-series beneath them. You have that option.

It's not hard. It's just that car companies know that there is more of a market for boring than extreme. Most people are boring. They want boring cars with boring lines. There is money in this, and that is exactly why most concept cars become a lifeless blob by time they make it to production. The members of this forum are at the extreme ends of the bell curve. We will never be satisfied with most designs because we are enthusiasts. BMW knows that if they make a car too interesting, they will lose the middle of the bell curve, and that means a loss of profits. So as long as the bottom line is the motivating factor (and any smart business man knows that is all that REALLY matters), this will continue. If you want exciting, you are going to have to customize something or pay in the 6 figure range for something that caters to the niche. There are plenty of options, but it is never inexpensive to be an outlier.

But it does not register on the International show circuit.

After NAIAS the opening show of 2012. Every European manufacturer now turn the focus to Geneva in March.

January 15th is the first news for BMW @ Geneva 2014.

Interesting fact, when referring to pigment color white is the lack of color and when referring to light color white is all colors combined.

Pigments versus Light in Color and Art
When it comes to color behavior, light behaves in opposing ways to pigments. The primary colors of light are the secondary colors of pigments. Mixing a given color pair together will bring different results in light and pigment. Adding more colors to the mix will sully or darken the color in paint, but will appear paler and brighter in light. The only thing they have in common is their complementary colors. But mixing complementary colors together will result in black in pigment; but white for light.

As an Urban Planner in the state of Michigan, I am happy to inform you that if you look at the street a little closer you will notice that street is one way. Now, one way streets in cities typically serves the purpose of alleviating traffic from the "heart of downtown", which we like to call the "central business district, CBD" for short. This street in particular is (W. Congress St.), this street runs on the north side of the Cobo Center, and is designed to flow traffic out of the CBD that is located behind the person taking this photo. Logical should dictate that this photo was taken during business hours, hence minimal traffic at this time of day.

SMART MOVE BMW TAKE THE ALL NEW M4 THAT WILL BE DEBUTED AT THE NAIAS DOWN THE STREET AT THE TIME OF DAY WITH THE LEAST AMOUNT OF TRAFFIC!!!!!!!!!:thump:

I hate when people rip on a city, every city has its own characteristics it!!!

Says the person from Chicago, the city with the most murders in the country in 2012 (reported 9/2013):

http://www.washingtonpost.com/blogs/...apital-of-u-s/
"The most murders" are isolated to violent neighborhoods at or near the city limits. Chicago didn't file for bankruptcy as a whole city, nor are people in other neighborhoods being senselessly killed--which, by the way, happens all over Detroit.

This is like a resident of Kabul arguing that their city is not as bad as Mogadishu, Somalia.
