Oil got all over my hood / bumper

Apparently some trucks like driving w/ loose oil cans and spill oil all over the highway / cars behind them.

Will it damage it leaving it outside until I can take it to the spotless car wash tonight?

My car's ceramic coated.

I wouldn't worry about it if it's diesel fuel or motor oil, unless it's anything corrosive like acidic or base chemicals. Just wash it when you get a chance.

A nice bucket of Dawn soap mixed with water should fix you up. Hit the underside with a commercial power wash but bucket wash the paint. At least that is what I would do.

If you go this route, remember to re-wax your car.

After the touchless wash I got it home and there was *so much* residue left.

Meguiar's quik detail did a good job. Only had to give a tiny bit of pressure to remove the oil.

you need a degreaser to breakdown the oils. Dawn, P21S total auto wash, degreaser, etc would do the trick.

No need to rewax after since its coated, but I would use the appropriate coating topper

I missed the part where the OP said the car was coated. I stand corrected.

I wouldn't sweat it.

My last X5 was transported directly under a Porsche 356, and some oil ended up on the hood for who knows how long. Oil wiped right off - no harm done.

Youre lucky it wasn't brake fluid, you would have had a repaint!
Surprised they didn't cover your car during transport
