I don't know I kinda like the sound of the sport exhaust. Not too loud. I'm too old now and I'm not planning to track my car.

Also I think I read somewhere that if you open some valves or something you will get a sound similar to the MPE.

Not anywhere close. The video I posted is with valves open for both exhausts. The MPE has a very different arrangement, particularly, it replaces the mid-resonator with a non-resonated H-pipe.

I am like you an also getting old . I have a valve control module and use it to keep the valves closed all the time for the DD. I do not like it when I have to do a quick acceleration when driving sedately and the exhaust goes BWAAAAARP when I hit 4000RPM. The beauty of the MPE is that it also significantly improves the sound with the valves closed. It has a nice a deep relatively quiet purr at low RPM more reminiscent of traditional BMW I6.

When I want to romp in the twisties or on the track, I open the valves and the MPE has a deep growl at low RPM that transforms to a shrieking howl at higher RPM that is very race car like . I love it (...as much as one can love the S55 sound ).

My opinion I like the Akrapovic much more and it's probably cheaper than the MPE

Just the Akra rear section sounds tame. You need the Evo for it to sound good, but it makes the car illegal as it foregoes the secondary cats. A no-go for me.

The MPE includes a mid pipe that replaces the mid resonator with an H-pipe but retains the secondary cats. The Akra rear section retains the stock mid pipes and resonators. The Akra Evo replaces the secondary cats and mid resonator.

You can get the MPE with CF tips as an installed option for $4,900 when you buy the car new
I paid $5,750 installed for my MPE with Ti tips at my dealer (with the 15% BMW club rebate)
Akra rear section lists for $5,740, Evo is $10,300, both not installed.

So the Akra rear section is about the same price as the MPE, but sounds tame in comparison. You need to spend an additional $4,500 to get the Akra to sound good. But that also make the car illegal as it removes the secondary cats.

If you buy an MPE from and have it installed by an approved dealer, the warranty on the MPE is the longest between the remainder of the new vehicle warranty or two years.

I wish that I have the second chance to order my car again with the MPE.....

Comparing with the original non ZCP exhaust , the MPE is a must with the M car.

Why not try to amend your factory order to include the MPE?

Don't believe thus is the case.
I've been told it's 2 yrs.
Doesn't seem to make sense however

So I’ve watched plenty of vids but I like this option. Deeper tone, breathes more freely, turbo spool quicker, no rasp (that’s personal), 1700 AUD installed. I had the option of free MPE with paid cf tips but ended up getting CF bits as an offer instead so I could roll with this sound

Wait for the launch control at the end

I tried but because it was an individual order, it was too late to add any options. They would have had to cancel the order. Also, i was told that BMW Canada no longer allows for port installed options.
