Can I go both ways? I think the LL is only close to valid for the same year. But in the desert of hard data on this subject anything is good.

I'm sure BMW experimented with more tire. I bet this is max effort for the M4 in production form.

I bet your right but only because they made the compromise for road readiness also, while the 350r or cars like the gt4 are not for road really( legal yes, but not sensible) mainly track.

The GTS can still be home on a highway ...... If BMW really chose a side and gave it Enough rubber that would be the true test here

Huh?

I would argue the GT350R would be more at home on the road than the GTS. Especially with the magnetic ride.

The GTS is 100% a track car first and foremost. My good friend daily drives his GT4. I don't see anyone daily driving their GTS, you would hit the splitter on everything.

You can wear dress shoes to run track too doesn't mean you should . The gt4 is completely Unadjustable , the GTS has adjustable suspension for track and off. The mustang r is designed again to be purely track focused - the magnetic suspensions and racing is irrelevant - search for this on the forum it's been discussed.

LOL...adjustable as in jack the car and take the wheels off. It is a track spec 3-way adjustable coilover system that comes with a physical tool kit to change settings. GT4 and GT350R are adjustable by simply pressing a button. The GT4 has PASM and adjustable sway bars. GT350R is on Magneride that changes its road manors by simply changing the drive modes. The GTS is coming from factory with 3-way adjustable coilovers, a huge splitter, giant wing, half cage. The car is a track car 100%. One of the owners here completely destroyed his splitter first week of ownership. He also sold the car when he realized he couldn't drive it everyday. I have had time behind the wheel of my friends GT4, as I said he uses it daily. In my opinon the GT4 is easily the most streetable out of the cars mentioned.

The fact your are trying to argue that a car that comes with analog race spec coilovers is more suited for road use than a car with Magneride or PASM is comical at best.

Agreed both my GT4 and GT350 have very comfortable street rides, more so then my old M4, in their softest (by pressing a button) settings. The biggest issue on the GT4 is it has a long front overhang, so luckily the front lip is a $300 part. I haven't driven a GTS yet but with a half cage and 3 ways can't imagine it rides better on the street.

Actually your right- I had my gt4s confused I mistook it for the club sport variant which is track only.

Regarding the mustang , great you like it but not my cup of tea

The GT350R rides way better than the GT4 or M4/GTS due to its magnaride suspension. MPSC2s on the 350R arent all that bad in the wet. They are not as aggressive or scary in the wet as the MPSC2s used on the Z06. It's very similar to a GT3 in regards to useability of its tires.

Lightning Lap is the biggest joke of automotive car comparisons. They use multiple drivers of GREATLY varying experience and talent levels (from highly inexperienced to pretty quick) testing cars of similar performance but seeing several second variances because of it.

Not to mention LL is conducted over multiple days and weather conditions can vary by over a second just in a single day, let alone multiple days. On top of that, VIR has been replaced twice in the last 3 years and was widened in a few places 2 years ago.

LL should not be taken seriously.
You do realize all the drivers drive every car and they select the fastest lap out of all of them for "the time " . Fastest lap from multiple drivers on the same day , same track, same conditions is about as good as it gets lol . The fastest car will be fastest period . Stop making excuses .

That's not how they do it, otherwise all the 'official' laps would have been done by KC -and they weren't.

The in-car videos of each car's fastest lap is on their Youtube channel. Each journalist had a handful of cars to drive to set the 'official' times. So it's still useless when you use multiple drivers of greatly varying experience and ability levels.

I love the new GT350, surprisingly insurance on it is a lot cheaper than an M3 too.
