Yikes, defect on leather seat

Well just noticed an issue on my wife’s 3 week old m4 with 300 miles. Washed it today for the first time and was cleaning the inside and noticed in bright sun what looks like blue thread like a fray or mis stitch. Can’t feel it, broke out a 5x magnifier, it’s a couple small scratches in the seam. Never noticed as they are so small, they look much large in the photo as I zoomed in. We didn’t do it, there is no damage to anything other than in the crease. Mgf defect, crap! Well will bring it to a SA and see what they say, BMW has been pretty good but wish I saw this sooner. Bummer. I guess I will take it to a shop it they won’t do anything. Clearly this happened during mgf, well to me anyway.

Thoughts?

Dealer will tell you that is not a defect. "Just characteristics of the leather" my 2017 750i has same issues and I show it to dealer, and that is their respond to me and "even if we order it, will take months to receive the replacement" "just keep monitoring if it crack let us know" Those BS...

And my 750i the defect area is much worse and bigger than yours.

Leather is not perfect.

As much as it sucks, imagine what the leather will look like after you drive it for 5000 miles in 6 months..that will like nothing, there will be marks all over your leather.

I'd let it go and not dwell on it. The time it will take for you to have it fixed (the fix wont be perfect and there will be something else wrong with it) and the hassle makes it not worth it in the end.

Wow.

The defect I am referring to is those small white marks in the crease on the seat, not that ” line depression” on the flat area, I would agree that’s a characteristic of the leather, the small scratches aren’t. Will give I a try, if no go will at least have the leather guy who worked on my Porsche, insanely good.

If you didn't bring it up during delivery inspection you're probably SOL. No way to prove that you didn't do that yourself unfortunately. Nothings going to be perfect. You sound OCD like me though lol

Took it by the dealer, we know the SA very well, his wife works with my wife and this is our 6th Bmw he said no problem, seen this before and will fix it or replace the seat at the 1200 mile service. Yes I have a bad case of OCD, lol.
