I agree that the standard finish looks 100% better in person than in pics, but I'm not sure about gloss black as it tends to lose so much detail.
The wheels need some "depth" as it is, which the OEM finish goes in some way to provide (in person at least). Personally, I'd probably rather have a matte/ satin black, or gunmetal, as others have already mentioned. I'd like to see them in a 'black chrome' like the 18" E46 M3 wheels on the face, with perhaps a slightly darker gunmetal in the recesses. |

Looks better but still not a fan of these wheels. Sorry, why didn't they make these concave again?!!

and here we are just about 9 months later and bmw goes and does this from the factory to the 666m wheels. I think your wheels look great in gloss black and apparently bmw did as well.

Black is such a useless wheel color. Take all the design elements of a wheel, and hide them in a black pit of a wheel well combined with the black wheel paint. Isn't the point to make wheels pop and not hide them? Maybe in the case of the 666's, it's okay to hide them....

Looks good. A while back I posted a thread about black triple 6's here.

Can't wait for the black wheel fad to die. It ruins the wheel. What's the point of having a fancy rim design if it's totally obscured by a giant black rotating mass?! Black rims look like steelies on winter cars.
