Weird sound when the car is cold

BIMMERPOST
     Featured on BIMMERPOST.com
Every morning when my car is cold, when I open the door (engine is not started yet, just electricity is power on), I can hear some weird sound (like the clock clicking) under the hood and it lasts for about 5 minute and then disappear. But this sound doesn’t happen after I drive it for a while.
Is it normal.
sorry, totally a newer of this sports car.

It's pumping the gas or something like that when your car is off.

It happens to me all the time even on my last BMW.

I just sit in my car for 3-5 minute and it does that.

These cars are high strung and will on occasion make all sorts of mechanical noises you won't hear in a Camry, lol Get in the car and drive!

Being my second German car that makes random noises, I just thought it was a thing they did, never paid much attention to it, but it happens lol

The ticking sound is the automated timer counting down telling you that you better get in quick and start it up. Your M is thristy for race fuel and pedal to be smash.

The fuel pump will prime when the door opens. Not sure which other items will trigger.
