Car wash, protection & care
Wondering what everyone's using for internal & external wash & care?
I'm sick of the local car wash only giving a mediocre wash with minimal or ludicrously expensive wash, care & protection. I have a lighter interior colour that's starting to show the dirt, I suspect that the previous washes have it adequately cleaned & has been just a 'wipe over'. Look for suggestions for full pack including a decent car shampoo, wax, leather cleaner, protection, trim cleaner & decent accessories that won't scratch/swirl paint & easy to clean wheels etc |

I wax once every 6 weeks with a natural wax. As far as interiors go, I do a light clean with a damp cloth to remove dust, and once in a blue moon I'll go over the leather with a light application of leather cleaner. The wheels get washed with the same car wash - and I normally put a layer of tyre sheen on after every other wash. Wheels come off once every 3 months to do a proper inside clean/brake caliper clean etc. The engine bay gets kept clean with compressed air and the occasional blast of contact cleaner when necessary. Generally speaking I really do keep on top of things, so I don't use anything particular to deal with swirls (They don't exist on my car), and I don't put any chemicals on the interior other than the very occasional leather cleaning treatment. I use a microfibre noodle mitt to wash the car, and terry towels to dry (I'm not a fan of Chamois at all). I actually just waxed it yesterday. I tend to find that constant applications make it a much easier job in terms of application/removal compared to when you leave it a little longer between treatments. Being a natural wax, you do need to apply it more often as well (at least once every 3 months). Polymer/synthetic waxes and glazes last far longer, but I really prefer what a natural wax does so I put in the additional elbow grease required. Last edited by Grover1971; 09-18-2016 at 09:26 PM.. |

This stuff is the real deal...
https://carpro.uk.com For cleaning rims, nothing beats Dragon's Breath (use a water blaster). http://www.valetpro.eu/dragon-s-breath.html This is good for dashboard: http://www.juicy-details.co.uk/dash-...sing-261897753 |

I'm new to Oz, but www.ultrafinecarcare.com.au has Dragon's Breath and Citrus Bling. www.waxit.com.au carries CarPro. Cheers. |

I use Adam's car care products, US products with an Australian supplier. The premier product is the "detail shine" product, great to make the car pop, post a good wash. Only downside of Australian distributor is that they run out of stock. I recommend all their products and keeps my M4 pristine, as well as 3 hours of sweaty work.

Used CarPro car wash. Then cleaned with Mint APC. Collinite 845 with fine red Lake Country applicator pad. Polish Angel RapidWax. Car looks amazing. All products in Australia. |

There's some here:
http://f80.bimmerpost.com/forums/sho...1175735&page=7 Not sure I could layer any more on there. But pros might have a different view. Plan to wash and then spray Polish Angel for a few months before topping up the collinite. |

Mate,
The best products I've used by far are Ammo by a guy based in the US. The products are quite expensive but it is definitely worth it. Have had my car for about 3 months and have not physically washed it with a mitt, still looks brand new. He also explains how to use each product. See the links below https://www.ammonyc.com/ |
