e93 looks very dated and too bloated. F83 has a much lower profile

I think the f83 looks better than the e93 from every angle. They both look incredibly ugly unfortunately from the side with the roof down.
I've never liked 4 seat convertible designs where all that they have done with them is shave the top off. That freshly driven under the trailer of a semi look has never appealed to me in any car. Two seat convertibles look fantastic with their tops down because they are conceived as convertibles not add-on options to something designed to be something else. The M4's front from the side view looks like it has a bad case of cysts with its bumpy appearance. I'd say that the e93 looks better here, except that it looks even more like an ugly 80’s floating pancake design. Now onto the good points. With the top up, from the side, the M4 looks sexy. I like the shape of the hardtop. It doesn't quite match the sexiness of its CF sister mind you, but the hardtop does give it an attractive unique look. From the back straight on with the roof down, however, the f93 M4 looks absolutely stunning. It looks way more menacing than the regular behinds of the M3/4.

For what the F83 has lost in modern elegance, from the E93, it has gained a mode brutal and industrial look that is more suited for the times IMHO. Too bad they both look like glorified rowboats when in profile with the top down.

Bunch haters here. First you cant stand how bad e93 looks looks v god sent 92. Now it's how bad, bloated and dated it looks against new one. Let me tell you something, there are many much better looking sports cars than m3/4 coupe, vert or sedan. You just can't afford them so you always try to pick on something, douchebags.

Posting on an old thread here but were the people that replied to these pics all on funny stuff.
I've yet to find a single soul that really likes the f82 or f83 from every angle (particularly the rounded flares on an otherwise angular car) yet the e93 above all others pleases most people from EVERY angle, more so with the roof down. The problem with these side by sides is immediately aparrent when you have different colours. White ex. with red int. is arguably the the people's favourite in the flesh but what's patently apparent in these pics is that in 2d this colour combo looks really fllat and lifeless. The lines on any gun metal e9x are far more accentuated than most other colours as can be Seen clearly on the f83 here. Go see a vert e93 m3 in the flesh and tell me it looks 'dated'. I'd agree it looks like the outgoing administration next to the m4 but trust me it looks 'cooler' all round. My local dealership happens to have one of each at the mo. F83 has a black interior being the only difference. Something happens as you walk around the car and reach the rear quarter looking toward the front of the car where the rear just falls apart. Meanwhile the front is literally awesome. The e93 m3 on the other hand just looks 'right' from all angles. My guess is that something may change in the mid term face lift which may address this. The other thing for me is, going back when the e93 m3 was first released it really was THE car in the lineup, always getting a nod and turning heads for it's differing looks. Nowadays the 320d turns heads as often as the m's with an admirably sporty looking kit and guess what, everybody and his neighbour has one. Add to this Mercedes latest facelift to the C and E class and I'm not sure the m4 looks any more agressive than the non amg Mercs. Look at the front grill of the c class and you'll see what I mean (oversized intakes and 'splitter' anyone). Difference is Mercedes new rear (bodywork wraps around exhaust) means the car now looks the nuts. Come on BMW, you're not far off but the competition has definitely caught up in the visual department. Rant over, have a great day. Last edited by johnscales; 07-25-2016 at 05:42 PM.. |
