Paint Protection Film Advice (Calgary)

Hi guys, who is good at PPF (like Xpel) in Calgary. Someone with experience with M cars and who does quality work would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance for your advice.

Anyone?

Does anyone have experience with the dealer-installed 3M product?

Only experience I have had is in Edmonton with Troy at AutoObsessed. Hands down - the best and totally worth it.

If you are limited to YYC - it may be worthwhile to still ring him up and see who he recommends down there.

Check out Thompson's Graphics, I've used them on my 899 Panigale and my friend's F30 and plan to use them for my F80. I was quite happy with their work and price, they use Suntek which is easier to install (according to them and several installers) and is glossier than Xpel. They do all the PPF for Porsche Calgary - not saying that this is the leading indicator of quality, just another data point.

Another place is Shadow Tinting but they tend to be a bit more expensive, both places are fairly close to each other.

If you want, I'm sure you can pop by and inspect their work if you ask nicely.

Thanks a bunch!

A number of folks are telling me that Thompson is very good. I will chat with them.

I had mine installed by the dealer. I worked it into the deal with them when I bought the car. They did a pretty good job I think. No obvious seams or cut lines anywhere.

I had a place in Edmonton do mine. I got substantially more work done than the typical 1/4 or 3/4 hood/fenders thing. I got a few quotes before I went ahead with the one I did and although I paid cash, I saved around $1K over going to regular shops. Feel free to PM if you want the details of the guy, they work on high-end cars all the time. But yea, a trip to Edmonton will be needed.

Jared who used to manage Shadow Tint is now at ZR Auto,
i've watched him while installing on my previous 435, the care and consideration he takes when he's working on your car is like mozart on a piano. Those who know of him will vouch the same.

Yup, I've been to Jared a few times with my older vehicles way back when. He is excellent and is a great guy to have working on your car.

End of story...

Darren at Thompson is without a doubt the best in the city; this is why he has the supercar club and all of Tunerworks business

Tinttec for tint is the best experience I've had so far.

I wouldn't touch ANYTHING that comes out of ZR auto

I agree I wouldn't let anyone from ZR touch my car, but Jared is independent and working out of their facility.

If anyone else worked on my car but Jared I would throw a fit, with that said Jared is a Jedi at this art.
