Cool...I'm sure you saw my write up from a couple of years ago. It was a great road trip out West. I wanted to fit in another trip there last August since I was already in Monterey, but ran out of time.
I saw you are also in the Springs...check out the D4C if you haven't already.

Kind of a silly question here, but those who don't live in California and have gone to the thermal Course, where did you fly in? I've been to La Quinta California one time and we flew in to orange county and it was still about a 2 Hour drive from there. Is there a better travel approach?

Nice write up! I'm doing the M Track Days half day event in Austin soon, so this got me even more pumped up for it. It will be the first time I've done anything like this, so I hope it gives me a taste of the real thing. Austin should be hot, but nowhere near 115. Thanks for sharing!
EDIT: Austin forecast shows a possible 107!

We were a little late on the draw to get a weekend slot, so we're doing Monday afternoon. Can't wait. Sounds like you've done it before? Do you spend much time driving each model?

Really nice write up. I did the 1 day M school in January of 2016 (very awesome Xmas gift from the wife) -- sounds like exactly the same program I went through when I attended, minus the M2s of course. I was lucky and there were only 2 other students that day so we all got a good bit of extra track time than what a larger class would get. We were all exhausted by day's end which definitely gave me a new appreciation for the endurance required to drive flat-out for long periods. Overall a great time and highly recommended for anyone that's on the fence.

I don't think they will allow a guest non-driver, but you could always ask 1-888-345-4269.

No. The guest may be able to ride with an instructor, they cannot be in the vehicle you're driving. A waiver will need to be signed as well (you'll sign one too). YMMV with the instructor ride.
