Eventuri CF Upgrades and CSF TMIC Installation
Well, after months of delaying the install did a nice full-day installation of:
- Eventuri CF CAI V2 - Eventuri CF Charge Pipes - CSF TMIC Wanted to stack the jobs as they are all basically on the top of the engine and removing the airbox is part of the charge pipe upgrade and removing the charge pipes is part of the TMIC upgrade. Doing it all at once took a bit of backwards and forwards. Removal was very straightforward on the stock airbox and stock charge pipes. The TMIC was fairly easy to remove until trying to get it off the charge pipe. Wow, was mine stuck. Assuming it's from the heat in the engine bay shrinking the stock plastic pipe. The only other frustrating part of the installation was the small grommets that connect the eventuri to the existing airbox vents and force air into the cone-shaped intakes. The provided grommets are very large and the space between the chassis and the holes for mounting would require a child's hand. Dropped them down a couple times on the driver side so had to remove the undertray to retrieve them. Ended up using some other pop grommets I had from Amazon and that did the trick. One last bit was around the E11 removal and installation on the rear charge pipe mount against the engine. It's precariously placed and requires a bit of socket ingenuity. Not the worst however, one of the more frustrating bolt placements on the car. I also had to self-bleed the car using the BMW DIY (accessory mode) and had to cycle it three times as the coolant level kept drawing more. I must have lost more coolant than I thought. For a couple engine bay pics: Thanks to flexspec for the Eventuri parts (ages ago now).

Also if you are ballin with the eventuri charge pipes and intakes, why not get the wagner TMIC? Figure that is our top of the line option with no loss in hp/tq.

I internally debated Wagner but had purchased the TMIC when it was on sale like 10 months ago. Only then did I see the debate regarding Wagner. Will let everyone know if I decide to swap out. Getting the stock TMIC off the pipe was one of those “why is this harder than it needs to be” moments
