$2 super practical mod for your seat belt

BIMMERPOST
     Featured on BIMMERPOST.com
I noticed the seat belt clamping is missing on F8x. BMW seems to randomly install them on some models and not on others. For example, officially it's not supposed to be present on my 5 series according to realoem.com, yet it is.

The male belt latch slides all the way down, which makes it inconvenient to reach it and slide it when buckling up.

Install this piece, part 72111862636:

Win!

Are you sure about the F8x? I have a week 37 build M3 that came with latches on the driver and passenger seat belts, though admittedly a little different in design than the image you provided. It keeps the male piece elevated for easy access. I'll post pics soon.

My M4 (July build) does not have those, even though realoem.com diagram lists it.

Interesting...the M4 has had several discrepancies regarding preproduction advertisement from BMW versus actual production vehicles...another one that comes to mind is the trunk throughput access ( or lack thereof) to the back seat regarding the M4 vert.

Either way, it looks like you solved the issue.

I have them on my F80. But driver's side slips down after a while. Not quite tight enough.

These are a must have IMO. My F30 came with them and now I buy them for all my cars.

They are designed not to be tight so that they can be easily adjusted and also for safety purposes.

These weren't on my M4 for some reason and it really sucks without them. I pulled them off my F30 lol

There is a clip that is attached to the seat belt that can slide all the way to the male portion. When properly positioned the clip will hold the male portion at shoulder height when you are seated to facilitate your ability to reach for the belt when it is in a retracted position. Apparently some F8x builds do not have this. My vehicle was a 37 week build and it has them.

Isn't there a little button looking thing for that?

Yes, mine has rivet-like flat buttons through the belts 16" from the floor. Looks like it could be relocated higher if desired.
