I updated my Nav maps a week ago - mine is a 2015 M4 so I'm on the NBT head unit which means I am limited to the NEXT upgrade (vs ROUTE or EVO on newer models?).
Here is what I upgraded to: Road Map North America NEXT 2017-2 Cheers, C.

Can I also get a link for NA EVO 2017-4?
Embarrassing! I'm still on 2016-3, I haven't received an OTA since purchasing in April 17. Thank you.

I'd appreciate the link as well. I'm still on 16-1...

So I figured I would post this question here instead of starting a new thread....
My car is at the dealer now for a routine oil change. My car, which is a 2017 model year car purchased back in Dec 2016 with a build date of Nov 2016, has been on base North America Map 2016-4 since I got it. I asked the dealer to manually update my maps to 2017-4 since I have received no OTA updates since I purchased the car. The dealer then tells me that my car is not eligible for any more "free" map updates, via OTA or the dealer, based on the production date of my car. In other words, since my car was built in 2016, my car is only eligible for free map updates in 2016 (i.e. Maps 2016-1, -2, -3, -4). So since my car was built at the end of 2016, Map 2016-4 is all I am going to get unless I pay to have my maps updated. Maybe I need to look at the fine print somewhere in my BMW car literature, but I thought free OTA or manual dealer updates came with the car during the new car warranty period. Did I miss something? Anybody else hear about this? The dealer has been pretty good to me thus far so I don't want to prematurely throw up the BS flag - and he did say he would re-verify BMW policy on this. But I remember reading that others have received "free" map updates from the dealer when the OTA process was not working properly - which apparently is not uncommon.

I got a similar initial response from my service advisor on Friday, but he quickly spoke to his shop foreman who was able to force an update to 2017-4. (Mine is a '18 M4 that came with 2017-1).
Your statement that the OTA updates don't seem to work on their own sounds right. Quote:

After all that, the dealer only updated my car to 2017-1. But my car did get a new software/firmware update. I can only speculate that the tech could not figure out how to properly update the Navigation Maps (or did not want to take the time) so he just did a whole car software update to solve to problem - which only partially worked.
