EDIT: Here's the latest W&W status. I've read conflicting reports as to what "customs release" and "liner release" mean, but at a minimum it seems that my car is off the boat. Last edited by candidgoat; 11-01-2017 at 04:01 PM.. |

having liner release typically means the freight and the bill of lading have both been taken cared of so the vessel operator can release the cargo
it is different than a customs release

This may be common knowledge, but customer-configured cars typically have been prioritized to get pushed through the VPC ahead of those destined for dealer stock. And even better if your new car won't need port-installed equipment.

Actual departure from Baltimore was about 20 minutes ago. Travel time to Savannah should be ~28 hours, arriving at about 4 AM (EST) on November 3. Calm seas ahead!.

Congrats!! That was quick!! Linear release occurs after Customs release via Woodcliff Lake, NJ. (just reviewed my 2014 ED posts from Bimmerfest when I was on a W&W boat). Your down the home stretch!!!!

This is a great idea, but I forgot to turn on the GPS tracking! That said, they're doing something with the car because the mileage went up today...

I Was attempting to attach my tracking info too, but apparently I missed that class and I am having a difficult time. Anyway, I didn't see a customs release on mine, so I called the BMW Genius line. I did clear customs and I was transported over to the VPC today. Should ship out Sunday and be at my dealer on Tuesday.

How many of us are still on board after Baltimore?
Not sure if y'all have your own tracking abilities, or whether to continue posting thread screenshots and updates of Pavo's pilgrimage to the Left Coast. We're just a few hours from the Savannah port, and now less than two weeks to California.

Guess it's just you and me. Here's the Savannah port layout, where we arrived earlier today. Don't stray far from the ship, since we won't be here long.
