M4 CS orders / reservations in the U.S.

Interested in the M4 CS. I know there's been a lot of general discussion around the car, but I haven't seen many people talk about actually buying one in the U.S. (yes, I understand the debatable value proposition).

I've contacted a few dealers to ask about timing and a potential reservation. Most seem to have no idea when exactly the cars will be available next year. One claimed that allocations have already come out and they didn't get any (sounds wrong).

Rallye in New York offered to reserve me a car in their first allocation for a $2,000 refundable deposit. They don't know any more about timing than anyone else, but the CA was positive that they would be getting an allocation due to the size/volume of the dealership.

Can anyone opine on M4 CS reservations/demand/timing/etc. and whether Rallye can be taken at their word?

I am first on the list for the M3 CS at my dealer. Put down the deposit. Order banks will not open on the M3 until May 2018, so allocations will not come out until ~May. Not sure about the M4 CS

I also have my name down for a CS. Not sure how serious I am though. Depends on the price and I'm still not totally sold on it. Canadian dealers have zero information on these cars.

Two different situations at play here. M3 CS is 'limited' edition for the last 6 months of production (May-October 2018), but at around 91 vehicles per month. M4 CS is a NOT limited edition and production goes until 10/2020. Unless you want to pay full MRSP and be "1st on the block", then put down a deposit, as with pricing not announced for either model there will be sticker shock- gota p$y to pl$y. My guess is maybe March 2018, as that is when the usual factory manufacturering changes occur. The CS is going to be a trim level above the ZCP, so allocation shouldn't be an issue. Yes, Rallye is a high volume dealership and allocation shouldn't be an issue (1st 2 BMW's were purchased via out of state from there- used to live in the area, but clueless for PCD or ED).

EDITED- Has your CA at Rallye offered discounted pricing i.e. X amount over invoice or full sticker deposit?

Given how low the production will be, you probably do want to get on a list and make a deposit if they require it. Just make sure they won't argue if you back out prior to ordering.

I'm #1 on my dealer's list and have been since the first rumors. But if they don't get an allocation for some reason, I'll go elsewhere to acquire one.

BUMPING This Up. Thescout13 did you ask for your deposit back for the M3 CS now that pricing starts at $97k? This is the price range of F83's.

No, changing it to a normal Comp Pack.
Is your M3 (comp pack) ordered yet? Or are you still waiting for an allocation from your dealer?

Have time, not doing ED for mine until next October, so have a deposit in, won't need an allocation until around March, and my dealer never has an issue getting them.

The 2nd time is always easier!! Excited to see what your create/build! You can always get a A-Workx tune for CS performance.

Nice to see an other CA on the forum, as it feels like a dog and pony show around here for Steve Thomas BMW. Thescout13 Will this comment get me a 'warning' or put in 'time out'?

They're going to produce M3 CS cars well after production ends, which is less than a year from now?
