$6k of an M4?

I ordered an M4 to lease from a dealer in VA. Then another dealer in PA found a car that had $6k more in options and was willing to lease it with the same terms for the same lease rate. Long story short, the car was at another dealership and it was sold when we got to it, but they agreed to order a new car with the same options for the same price. My concern is, this new deal involves a trade of my 335, and the PA dealer has yet to see my car! I only gave them the VIN. I guess they have all my options and the car fax. So, I placed the new order, and have not cancelled the old one yet. I guess ultimately my question is, can there really be such a price difference between two dealerships? I thought I got a decent deal from the first one.

I was in the same situation here in the DMV and I ended up going to SC and got my F80 with an MSRP of $5k more for almost $100/month less for the lease.

Sounds like you were either getting ripped off by the first dealer or getting a great deal from the second. There is no way to know unless you get a break down of the numbers. This is what happens when you negotiate based on payments. You have no clue if you are getting a good deal or not.

Man, that is some serious negative equity. You can't find a buyer for your current car and reduce that to some extent?

Tell me about it! It's the result of a couple of impulse buys and early resales, and just rolling them in. Just want to clear that out and start fresh with the M4

If it's a car that you decide to wait on, then I'd suggest you sell yoru car private party rather than trade in. May I also suggest you finance based on this breakdown.

-$16.5k trade equity is something not to overlook. Depending on how you look at it, that's the price of another car or a good chunk of house equity!

Also, that looks like some serious downpayment on the car, which as I have learned over the years is probably not a good decision to make for a lease. $1065k/mo for 36 months is pretty insane too! Many things are missing, including residual and MF. Check out ridewithg for more info and comparisons.

Looks like they added the negative equity trade + tax on the "sale price"

This breakdown seems to be anything but a deal.

Tell me about your trade? I am pretty sure the "Actual Cash Value" is higher and they are showing you a lower amount of $29,500. This in net allows them to lower the price of their car. And Finally what is the money factor? This is another way the dealer can make additional profit.

I'm sure I could get another $2k if I try to sell it myself. But it's a lot of hassle, then I'd have to rent a car till I get the new one etc.

So my trade (a 2012 335i) has a blue book value of $34k for selling to a private party. And they are offering me $29.5k. I don't think that is a bad deal. My problem is I'm upside down on the current loan because of several poor impulse buys in the past. But basically I'm putting 20k down to clear the negative and a small down payment towards the new. But do you think they are giving a good deal on the M4 by taking 3.5k off? And what is the money factor? What's a good money factor for this lease you think?

If you have a 2012 335i with normal miles than the overall deal looks fair.

Unless you're putting down capital on the lease not sure how you get a lower lease payment these days. Hell that's lower than my dealer quoted and why I just decided to buy. And I have no negative equity..

P.S. Georgia makes you pay tax on the full value of the car during a lease. So my views may be skewed.
