VA state inspection + Painted front reflectors
Will there any issues or problems passing the VA state vehicle inspection with the painted front reflectors on the car?

I always look at stuff from "New Posts" and don't always pay attention to region. Sorry.

Technically it would not pass inspection so make sure you keep the old ones in case you need to swap them temporarily.
Having said that with my old M3 they (dealer) gave me a hard time only once but passed me anyway letting me know they needed to be changed next time around (which I did not), so I guess it depends on if they even notice your reflectors are now painted. |

Haha!
FWIW, I've had no problems passing in the past with this. Never even thought about it.

I would think the same.....guessing most of the time they won't notice it. Here in the People's Democratic Republic of Maryland they probably would notice it though. That and the fact that I don't want a front plate on the car is making me title it in Florida

How are you titling it in FL? I'm thinking about buying a property @ Flint, MI for like less than 1K just to avoid that.

With the military I am able to keep my Florida residency. Since the sales tax on the car is the same in both states and the dealer was nice enough to not drill the front bumper, I figured I would take advantage of the opportunity. I would rather blend in with local tags....but I guess blending in will be difficult to do with the car and the color so, oh well

is there an official record of the failure, or can you just take it somewhere else? Glad I don't have to go through that inspection except for once.

You are allowed to take it elsewhere for a second opinion.

Reviving this thread as I just got painted reflectors on. Anyone have any recent experiences with inspection at dealer with the painted reflectors? If so, which dealer?

Here is what they check http://www.myquicklane.com/everyday-...te-inspection/ I have gone though two inspections and have passed without issue. I had mine inspected at BMW of Sterling. BTW, I am surprised that the tinting of windows and front and back license plate mounts have not made it on the list. Stupid Virginia... |

Probably depends on the place you take it. Last one I did they didn't want to inspect because I don't run a front plate. So I had to drive down the street to another place.
