6MT Shift Knob Options

So we all know about the M Perf knob and the 3D Design knob. Are there any other ones out there that you've seen or used personally? I have the M Perf one and its....well...kinda stubby and my hand does not rest comfortably on it. Then my shift from 1st to 2nd involves me having to wrap my hand round it from the side, so when I shift back into second I can't just flick my wrist back (if I were resting my hand on top I would be able to) but have to shift my whole arm backwards, causing my elbow to contact the side bolster of my chair.

Any ideas or suggestions? (On new knobs, not shifting techniques).

I'm ordering a custom designed knob from Flossy. I know they're more the FRS/BRZ/STI crowd, but I like the ball knobs.

Is that weighted? I need to find something that's weighted and fits our interiors well.

Yeah it's weighted. They have lots of different weights. In the ball version it's something like 220 gram or 500 gram. They might have more weights; I'm not sure. I might order a yellow one or a blue one. It's pretty cheap at $100. And custom designs are only $10 extra. The fidelity of the laser etching looks pretty good.

More on their instagram. https://www.instagram.com/keep_it_flossy/

What was wrong about the stock knob?

What about this?

Hmmmmm.......I had that one in my 335i long ago....I can't remember if it's shorter than the original, illiminated M-knob that comes in the car right now. Is it?

But I guess if I got that then I would have to cut out the knob and remove the boot, replacing it with one that fits - since the boot shape won't be for the F8x

I can measure it for you; could make a comparo if someone measured their stock F80 knob.

I believe the F80 is the same as the ZHP knob, isn't it?

The short part is good. It's the shape I have an issue with at times. I'm technically 85% satisfied with it right now. I'm just always looking to improve on it.

I got my Flossy knob but they took longer than they stated. And they ended up sending me the wrong insert (13mm instead of 14mm). Supposedly, the correct insert is on it's way in the mail.

For now, I removed the insert and wrapped my shaft with electric tape and then jammed the Flossy know on the shaft. It's heavy weighted at 500 grams and it feels great. The quality is also good.

This knob is awesome. It is perfectly weighted and the throws are incredibly short w/ UUC's SSK.

Still working on a custom boot.

Here's my Flossy knob installed.

The knob feels great. It's about 2" in diameter. It's cool to the touch even after sitting out in the burning sun these past two days. All in all, the product itself is quite good. Would I order from Flossy again? Maybe.

Anyways, here's an animated GIF of my knob.
