That's a pleasant surprise. The Akra on the n54 1M's made them sound like dump trucks. This sounds is more refined. Can't wait to hear it when driving.
You guys that think this will be cheap are in for a surprise. Just the tips of the Akra on the e9X M3's are USD $1,000.

I would pay 6k for akrapovic for the beautiful sound it makes on the s65 but not for the s55...my n54 sounded better to me with the Remus Race exhaust even in videos.

Just because it's more expensive, it doesn't necessarily make it better. If I were you, I would wait until a couple solutions come out and then see which sound you like best. It will also help with competitive market pricing.

I ended up going medium of the range (Eisenmann), but eventually, you'll see exhausts come out for much cheaper. Hell, I'd have no problem with a Megan exhaust for the V8. I think it sounds wonderful and is under $1k. Wheels, I might understand why you'd go best of the best, but not sure I understand getting owned for a catback/axleback system.

https://www.akrapovic.com/#!/multimedia/akrapovic-tv I'm glad they released the video above, but I understand what gthal is saying. Stationary revs aren't a very good representation of how the exhaust will sound under load and in motion. I cannot wait for the full Akrapovic M4 exhaust video to hit their website.

Of course he did, that is why I provided the conversion in the post you quoted. Based on that conversion it will be no where near $7k.

Oh, so you were saying 7,000 *Euros*. That makes much more sense. So a smidge under $10,000. They'll have a lot of takers at that price...

OEM Exhaust Mod?
This exhaust sounds nice but I still can't beat the $350 I paid for my OEM Exhaust Mod (non-perf) for my 2013 M3 Convertible. It's easily the best money I have ever paid for anything on a car, given the price vs sounds difference.
If this is a possibility with the new M3/M4 then you might save yourselves about $3.5-7k. I have nothing against Akra. Who knows - maybe I'll buy one myself for my eventual M4. But if this mod is dooable on the new M3/M4 then I'm going to seriously consider it... Kudos to Akra for making such a high-quality product. We should all be thankful that we have these types of companies making great products for us But I'm still going to consider the OEM Exhaust Mod first if it's possible... |

I agree the akra sounded better on the s65. My n54 sounds better with catless downpipes and stock exhaust to me also.
