Yeah not doubt. Nothing like chasing issues following an “upgrade”. You have more patience than me, I would have went back to all stock components.

On my MHD app, the coil options are flash-time options, so you can't see they unless you go to flash. I can't say for sure your issues are solely because you're not selecting the b58 coils option, but if you're running them, you defintaley want to check this option. Coils take a certain dwell time to saturate, and this time changes based on voltage. These properties are different for different coils. There is a table in the DME that defines these dwell times, checking the b58 coils option when you flash will update this table. If you don't, your coils will still fire the plugs, but they won't be operating as intended.

That said, there is another potential issue. Shortly after Nexsys launched their kits, some people noticed some physical differences with some B58 coils which preventing the springs from properly contacting the plug. I haven't followed the b58 coils to know where that landed, but I know Nexsys started sending different springs out to people who had these different b58 coils. Google b58 coils nexsys n54 and go to the spxxlstrxxt link that you'll find for some good reading on this. You'll find details about the dwell parameters, and also that spring issue.

I toggled the b58 coil option on my BM3 and flashed it. Didn’t do shit
I’m back to s55 coils and plugs for now I’m not doing this shit again unless there’s more info on it.

I told Vargas the boots weren’t hitting the plugs and they said it couldn’t be their product must be my error. Nah, it’s def their product

Wow, great response from vtt... They didn't mention the issue where some b58 coils are different and need different springs for contact? Here's some excerpts from page 6 of that thread I mentioned.

Just re-read the screen shots I posted - that issue was causing the springs to not contact on the coil end, not the plug end as I said earlier - I misunderstood the first few times I read that. The issue makes more sense to me now.

I just installed mine. There was a nice pop when pulling them out so they made good contact with the plug. Will pull them again and see what te spring at the coil end looks like.

Lol people getting too hung up on the pop.

Better question is: does it run?

Alright, to Vargas credit, they did offer me a return on the item and a refund. Granted, I just wanted support in getting it to work. Definitely got beyond frustrated last week attempting everything possible that I/others could think of, all the while not having any sort of troubleshooting assistance from VTT.

All in all, I love VTT's products, I think they make really good stuff no doubt.

In hindsight, and perhaps in the future once it is more widely used on the S55, I will buy VTT kit again, but also the VTT coils (had turner ones before).

Good point. Need to install new turbo before it gets fired up. Few months out.

Ok don’t get me wrong: I KNOW it works bc others have it working.

The whole thing w the boots and the springs and the coils having different dimensions is frustrating to say the least.

The potential benefits sound phenomenal.

I definitely still want this mod, but I want certainty that the things will actually work.

I’m not noob at modding and do all my own mod work (just did my clutch swap last night), but the lack of support and real life users is something to consider. I think in a few months this will be much more prominent throughout the N55/S55 platforms

What is the benefit of this mod? VTT is well know for being dismissive and questionable. Not sure what changed your mind.

Yes their customer service isn’t great lol no doubt.

I honestly think they make good stuff, if they weren’t dismissive they would be way better obviously.

Usually “V2” products end up being much better for reasons I don’t need to list. This felt like a “beta” version for sure.

I’m still kinda annoyed that Vargas straight up didn’t even offer to troubleshoot me they just said “return it” lol

Benefits are more energy output in the coil packs which leads to faster spark time which leads to better overall ignition which in turn lets you run more aggressive tunes/higher boost among a list of many more benefits/timing etc I’m no subject matter expert but those are the basics imo
