6NS - Enhanced USB & Bluetooth

iSpeech is Voice control for contacts and music, and is part of 6NS, but not 6NH. While you can code 6NS into cars with factory 6NH and Combox, and get A2DP Bluetooth Audio Streaming, you will not get iSpeech as it also requires a VIN specific FSC Enabling Code, so it is best to make this a factory option.

Isn't A2DP part of standard equipment, 6NH? Are you sure?

Bluetooth audio works just fine on my M4 and I didn't get 6NS.

I am saying iSpeech is only in 6NS, and requires an FSC Code, and that A2DP may or may not be in 6NH depending on the build date, and if it is not, it can be coded on.

Beginning 04/2014, factory 6NH now includes A2DP BT Streaming and USB / BT Album Art. Factory 6NS adds support for Secondary Phone, BT Library Browsing, Additional Microphone, iSpeech, Mobile Office, and Base Plate for for Snap-In Adapter.

If you have build prior to 04/2014, you will not have A2DP in 6NH.

Thanks for clarification. I didn't even know F8x were produced before 04/2014.

There aren't. The A2DP distinction was made for the inclusion of other chassis built prior to then. Not only F8x owners read M3/M4 Post, ya know, like F10 guys.

Unbelievable. I thought 6NS would get me better iPhone integration, and not having to spend an additional $300 on an adapter. I was never informed about this. When I ordered my M3 the dealer still didn't get their training from BMW Canada. I had to come on HERE to figure out what all these options were.

Agreed. All the dealers I spoke with were hopeless regarding 6NS. It is one of the more overpriced options out there, especially since the Office functions don't work well with iPhone, but BMW shows an iPhone in the promotional material!

The price of the adapter varies depending on the type of phone. You can get an iPhone 5 adapter (the most expensive one) in the US for $200, or probably even less on eBay.

iSpeech is part of the 609 Navigation, regardless of 6NS.

Why BMW is posting that iSpeech is only part of 6NS while posting that it is not baffles me...

Yes, that is a good point. You could have 609 and 6NH, and still have iSpeech.

Yes, as long as you have 609 Navigation Professional.

It appears so, but so is BT Streaming with 6NH, so you may not need to code 6NS at all, unless you are going for something else.

It looks like the only two things that 6NS offers that I’m even remotely interested in are the bluetooth library browsing and the connection to the external antenna. Since I will most likely continue to plug my phone in via usb for charging purposes. This option seems irrelevant especially since it would appear that since US buyers get Nav standard and therefor have the 609 needed to make iSpeech work.

I just purchased a new '15 X6, it has streaming BT with Album Art, but not office nor BT search. When I pulled it's FA it doesn't have 6NH or 6NS?? Not sure if I just need to add 6NS or change something else other than 6NH to 6NS??

I have 609, 610, 645, 655, 688, 697, 6AC, 6AE, 6AK, 6AM, 6AP, 6WB

Does anyone know if the car is prewireed for the 2nd mic. My friend added 6NS and wanted to add the 2nd mic if it doesn't require me disabling the while car. I already found the mic on ebay...
Any insight on this
