M3 6MT vs M3 DCT ZCP
Looking for an M3 and I wanted to try both worlds.
Base car with manual and no ZCP: impressions after driving it, did not impress me at all. Exhaust was OK, front seat was nothing special, manual transmission was nice, shifting was good, but it did not impress me at all. Today I drove a ZCP with DCT and it blew my mind. The DCT transmission is superb, riding on normal street was great, the exhaust sounds much better than the stock on cold start and also when driving. The front seats felt different, more lateral support, much more comfortable. Some say that seats are the same except on the ZCP they removed the lumbar and also open those holes, but to me the seat was day and night between one and the other. Anyone else felt this big difference between both stock and ZCP? |

You really ought to try a 6MT equipped car with ZCP as well as a DCT equipped car without ZCP. Otherwise there are too many variables at play to come to a conclusion.
The ZCP vs non-ZCP and the 6MT vs. DCT debates are very well worn and can get heated. Each has their own thread(s) which I have provided links to below. http://f80.bimmerpost.com/forums/sho...d.php?t=916402 http://f80.bimmerpost.com/forums/sho....php?t=1247423 http://f80.bimmerpost.com/forums/sho....php?t=1275915 |
