it'll never happen, but us xdrive fans can dream, right?

i realize the M3 is about no compromises, but for cold climates, i'll make a compromise if it means i get to drive it more.

Hi Herold,

I like your renderings very much ... but why you don´t make the exhaust pipes closer together as shown in all spy pics and like all M3 since the E46 had?

Would make the rendering look more realistic!

In your renderings you have M5 (or 1M) style!

Ask the question?
Get the same answer...

Do you want less weight or more weight?
That is why BMW M Performance was created. To extend M with more everyday concepts with features that are not featured with standard M cars.
If you want an X-Drive M car then your options will be the X5M and X6M and of course the forthcoming X4M.

Why would you want that? More weight, less feel, and more understeer?

I'm really split on this. On one hand, I want the M3 to be focused and more "hardcore". On the other hand, one of the best things about the M3 (sedan) to me was that it was one of the best ALL around cars which made it hugely enjoyable 100% of the time. I could go fast, I could carry people, I could carry stuff.

AWD has a legitimate place in the sports car arena.

If BMW could make an AWD M that truly kicked ass and set the benchmark for an AWD sports car, I'd support it. Otherwise, I guess it feels like dancing along to Audi's fiddle.

Porsche makes fantastic AWD sports cars, but their pinnacle is in fact RWD. I don't think the OP was suggesting that an AWD M car displaces the RWD M3. Only that an AWD option was available to the willing.

Considering that Porsche, Ferrari, Lambo, Audi and others make great sports cars with an AWD option, it's not really that crazy of a wish IMO.

That said, I'd be fine with a 328i X-Drive M-Sport

I agree an AWD model would be awesome for those who don't live in California or Florida lol.

I hear a lot of people saying "oh you cant because it not an M characteristic" but lets be honest people.. The M of today is not the M of 10 years ago. The M division has lost its thirst for performance and aims to generate sales. You can all tell from the "super duper cool lime rock edition" lol

They charge more for a car that has nothing to offer.. its all about $$$..

Does this also include future front wheel drive models as well? The F30 4WD drive system looks a great system that I think would work. As regard to weight why offer an M6 Gran Coupe model?
