Dinan Stage 1 Engine Software vs. PiggyBack ECU?

I have a 2015 M4 convertible which I installed the Dinan PiggyBack ECU tune back in August of 2015. I also upgraded to the Dinan Carbon Fiber Cold Air Intake at that time. Note - I DO NOT have the Dinan Heat Exchanger.

During some recent conversations with Dinan they educated me to a newer software tune that delivers nearly 100HP more power. This would require me to remove my Dinan PiggyBack ECU. Dinan is offering to "upgrade" me to the newest software in exchange for me returning my Piggyback.

Has anyone else replaced their Dinan Piggyback ECU with the "new" Stage 1 Software? If so, how did it go? Any issue? concerns?

I don't think its worth it to get the Dinan flash if you already have the Dinan piggyback.

The flash tune will be smoother and more powerful vs the piggyback you currently have.
If they're applying a credit for your current device, I would upgrade.

@SYT_Shadow - Dinan is offering the flash tune at no cost to me and i've got a local Dinan dealer willing to perform the flash for free. All I have to do is mail back my original piggyback ecu.

Do you think the tune will still be valuable if i do not have the Dinan Heat Exchanger?

Yes for sure.

I do t know why Dinan has that heat exchanger requirement, plenty of other tunes have more power than Dinan and have no such requirement.

In the f8x, as in other generation m3s, there are several cooling 'upgrades' that are actually downgrades. The stock system is very, very well designed.
