Congratulations! Love the MG. Yes, I like understated colors and all of my BMWs have been grey...even my Z4M coupe!

While I cannot comment on how the F8x sounds compared to a Ferrari, to state the obvious Ferrari makes V-8 as well as V-12 engines. And yes, the S55 is an inline-6 not a V-6. If a turbo M makes the forums vibrate, they will explode if/when BMW uses a V-6.

That's not the way carbon fiber works. You don't have to cut a hole in it after it's built....you manufacture it with a void for the moonroof (aka you weave around it). Haven't you seen those videos of the BMW i line with cutouts in the chassis? If it can be done for the chassis, it can be done for the roof.

EXCELLENT! Exactly what I needed to know, thank you. Kinda strange that they'd put a dummy button there... too bad they couldn't have found a better way to cover it up.

One more question - since these cars have comfort access is the "kick under the trunk to open it" feature included?

Thanks again

Well they do have fake engine noises coming in through an expensive sound system... It's gotta be good for something, right?

Back to the car... The M4 is absolutely stunning. Seeing pictures of the red/orange color (Sakhir Orange I think it is) makes me insanely jealous of anyone with one.

I agree with the OP. I've heard the m4 In person and IT DOES have a similar sound to Ferrari at idle.

Enjoy in good health!! Make some videos

why is it so surprising? this is synthesized sound. they should have settings to make it sound like a ferrari or an f1 car or anything else

most people in bmw forums (myself included) have only heard ferraris from outside (there are 10+ ferraris in the carpark of my apartment complex) so i can only guess what a mid engined ferrari 458 sounds like from the inside.....

Coming from two black 3 series back to back.

But .... The more I see MG is more I'm falling for it.

Cause it was either MG on SO or SO on black.
My choice as well. M3 MG/SO - cannot wait to one in real life. It's off the boat in Sydney in 4 weeks.

It happens, the new engineer accidentally loaded the F40 sound byte to his AS.

I kid I kid. Congrats OP!

Congrats OP. Car looks great.
True, but you still have to front 7700 up front and its not in a bank account or retirement.

Yas Marina Blue is a great color, no doubt, but I would shy away from actually owning it. I don't know why they've gone so nuts with the colors.... are they trying to get us all arrested? I'd be looking for something sophisticated, yet sporty on this car: Le Mans Blue comes to mind, or Interlagos. Classic M colors... where did they go? Can't even get Estoril on these things.

Somehow I suspect if Le Mans Blue or Interlagos re-appeared in the color line up, BMW would see the take rate for YMB fall off in a hurry. LCI, maybe? Maybe the new car looks better in a bright color, so you can really appreciate the lines. Too flashy for me, though.

But, congratulations to the OP! I love Mineral Grey and it would be my pick of colors on any new current BMW right now. My dad has a 128 M-Sport in Mineral Grey and it truly is stunning. Deep, silky, smooth, and especially gorgeous on a car with sexy M bodywork. Looks fantastic in the sun.
