Door Hinge Issue

Hey all, I recently leased a 2016 M4 vert and she currently has about 2600 miles. I cannot believe that I am experiencing an issue with the driver's side door. It makes a terrible noise opening and closing the car door and appears to be the result of a defective door hinge. I'm hoping the door doesn't fall off before I bring it into the dealer for service. Has anybody else experienced an issue like this?

Could be lack of grease. Add some lube and report back.

I had this issue. There is a star shaped bolt that got loose. Retorque it and noise went away.

Open door and look at where door and body would meet when closed, closest to engine bay. Star shaped bolt is easily seen.

The piece that the star bolt holds moved a bit as I opened/closed door and made an awful click/creak noise. Re torque the bolt and noise went away.

I guess the guy on the BMW assembly line who is in charge of torqueing that bolt has not been eating his Wheaties.

I hope they didn't promote him to installing connecting rods.

Same issue on my new 2018. Where can I source the socket and what’s the torque value? Thank you.
