When should we expect discounts off 2014 M3 MSRP to start kicking in?
So I remember when the 2001 M3 came out dealers were marking them up 5-15k over sticker... 2008 it was roughly the same thing.... When can we expect to get the 2014 M3 sedan at less then MSRP or even near invoice. I want to order and lease one, but refuse to pay a huge markup just to say I was the first one to have one.... I know timelines still arent concrete but anyone have any ideas?

Given the wide spread QC body issues with the F30 series, I'd wait a few model years anyhow...
That was a primary reason to buy my 335i now versus a V8 M3, I'd rather endure the hiccups on a cheaper daily drive than an exotic super sedan.

As far as I know, we haven't ever seen markups here in the Midwest. I bought the first M3 the dealer received in '08 and got $3,000 off MSRP. In fact one local dealer is already discounting the new M5 $7,000. Thinking about trading

Same even in SoCal, very few are dumb enough to even pay sticker. For instance, the V8TT M5 has been available below msrp since release. Thing have changed a lot in the last 5 years and it's a good thing for the consumer and a lesson for the greedy dealers.

I hope you all are right
I will fly to the midwest if I have to. When I was living in the sf bay area I remember a friend of mine paid 8k over for a 2001 M3, and remember Peter Pan BMW having a 2008 M3 coupe (the first I had seen) for 10k markup... I laughed at the sales guy. Anyways I guess we will see, I could always shop to see who has an allocation available and buy from them.

I only paid $500 over ED invoice when E92's were first offerable when bunch of dealers were charging MSRP+ for them especially the E92 335's... I got a very similar pricing on my M3 as well.... But there are plenty of idiots out there

Yeah the real question is if and when the M3 will be available for ED without coming out of dealer inventory. If that happens you'll know you can get it for less than $1,000 over invoice.
