RFS I believe is for reverse lamps. But I think those are halogen in regular production so not sure why those need to be coded. BFD are the brake lights. |

Hey there, I was doing some coding tonight and wasn't able to find these under the REM Module. Is there any chance you can provide the folder number under which I can find these individual settings? I.e. 3000, 3070, etc...

Folder numbers are somewhat irrelevant, depending on software version.

There are a number of guides in the coding forums to reference from. The same steps apply to most modules.

Hi Tom,
I'm asking as I've referenced these guides and am still not seeing where I should be updating these items. I've been able to successfully code all of the other modules utilizing ESys and the cable I have, so I am comfortable with coding, I just need some more help on this. Any chance you can give me some pointers given I just dropped over $700 on some lights from you guys?? |

There are existing threads in which you can reference from, or maybe seek someone local to you if additional assistance is needed on the coding portion.

Hey folks, did the upgrade today and lights look great. I am encountering an interesting error message though, "Two-stage Brake Lamp Malfunction" on both the Left and Right sides. The lights seem to work fine, no flickering at startup, and brakes light up the outer assemblies and the middle light at the top of the rear window. Any clue what could be wrong? I coded the following:
Add FA HO-Wort = HELC and VO Code REM. I did not add any of the following, wondering if this may be the reason or if there's something else I need to be concerned with. REM Module REM -> BFD_L_IS_LED: aktiv / Werte=01 REM -> BFD_R_IS_LED: aktiv / Werte=01 REM -> FRA_H_L_KALTUEBERWACHUNG: nicht_aktiv / Werte=00 REM -> FRA_H_L_WARMUEBERWACHUNG: nicht_aktiv / Werte=00 REM -> FRA_H_R_KALTUEBERWACHUNG: nicht_aktiv / Werte=00 REM -> FRA_H_R_WARMUEBERWACHUNG: nicht_aktiv / Werte=00 REM -> FRA_H_R_IS_LED: aktiv / Werte=01 REM -> FRA_H_L_IS_LED: aktiv / Werte=01 REM -> NSL_L_KALTUEBERWACHUNG: nicht_aktiv / Werte=00 REM -> NSL_R_KALTUEBERWACHUNG: nicht_aktiv / Werte=00 REM -> NSL_L_WARMUEBERWACHUNG: nicht_aktiv / Werte=00 REM -> NSL_R_WARMUEBERWACHUNG: nicht_aktiv / Werte=00 REM -> RFS_R_KALTUEBERWACHUNG: nicht_aktiv / Werte=00 REM -> RFS_L_KALTUEBERWACHUNG: nicht_aktiv / Werte=00 REM -> RFS_R_WARMUEBERWACHUNG: nicht_aktiv / Werte=00 REM -> RFS_L_WARMUEBERWACHUNG: nicht_aktiv / Werte=00 REM -> RFS_L_IS_LED: aktiv / Werte=01 REM -> RFS_R_IS_LED: aktiv / Werte=01 Last edited by Nadeemp8; 12-09-2016 at 09:54 AM.. |

Allright folks, looks like I got everything set and now have no error messages and a beautiful set of lights on the car. Since it took me a few tried I figured I'd post up the process that helped me so as to help any others who decide to take on this awesome upgrade.
1) Install lights as per Tom's initial write up 2) Coding will need to be done as follows, with step a performed and coded before proceeding to step b a) Add FA HO-Wort = HELC and VO Code REM. b) Go into REM Module, under folder 3061 (LceOutputChannels) you'll find the following that needs to be changed REM -> BFD_L_IS_LED: aktiv / Werte=01 REM -> BFD_R_IS_LED: aktiv / Werte=01 REM -> FRA_H_L_KALTUEBERWACHUNG: nicht_aktiv / Werte=00 REM -> FRA_H_L_WARMUEBERWACHUNG: nicht_aktiv / Werte=00 REM -> FRA_H_R_KALTUEBERWACHUNG: nicht_aktiv / Werte=00 REM -> FRA_H_R_WARMUEBERWACHUNG: nicht_aktiv / Werte=00 REM -> FRA_H_R_IS_LED: aktiv / Werte=01 REM -> FRA_H_L_IS_LED: aktiv / Werte=01 REM -> NSL_L_KALTUEBERWACHUNG: nicht_aktiv / Werte=00 REM -> NSL_R_KALTUEBERWACHUNG: nicht_aktiv / Werte=00 REM -> NSL_L_WARMUEBERWACHUNG: nicht_aktiv / Werte=00 REM -> NSL_R_WARMUEBERWACHUNG: nicht_aktiv / Werte=00 REM -> RFS_R_KALTUEBERWACHUNG: nicht_aktiv / Werte=00 REM -> RFS_L_KALTUEBERWACHUNG: nicht_aktiv / Werte=00 REM -> RFS_R_WARMUEBERWACHUNG: nicht_aktiv / Werte=00 REM -> RFS_L_WARMUEBERWACHUNG: nicht_aktiv / Werte=00 REM -> RFS_L_IS_LED: aktiv / Werte=01 REM -> RFS_R_IS_LED: aktiv / Werte=01 Once you've done this you should have a set of LCI tail lamps on your F80 that do not flicker when turned on and no error messages on your dash! |

When I tried to find the settings you had listed to be changed I did not see them pop up in the REM module until I added HELC and re-coded the FEM module. Either way I am up and running 100% now, posted up what I did in case someone else runs into a similar issue. |

There is enough clearance for the guide pin and wire.

Won't know until the MY18 M4s are released. Should be similar, we'll release a M4 specific DIY when available.

2014 335i Msport
I wanted to ask if I could get these in my 2014 335i Msport. Is there a plug-and-play method to do this without having to code? iND seems to have a plu and play wiring harness for sale along with the lights...would that work?
Thanks! |
