Baby mirror compatible with F80 back seat headrest?

Looking for recommendations for a baby mirror that can attach to the headrest in the M3. Every model i've come across, including the one we have for the X5, requires attaching by looping under and over the headrest. This doesn't work with seats that have the headrest and seat as one piece.

It is a mirror you attach to the headrest of the backseat when you have a rear facing child seat. Lets you see your child in your rear view mirror.

I take it you don't have kids. It's a mirror you attach to the rear headrest to watch the baby in the car seat.

I have one of those loop over-under ones installed in my car right now. You have to attach it to the centre headrest instead of the side.

Works 100%

If you tilt the mirror down/mount it low enough it doesn't obstruct your vision out of the rear view mirror/window either.

Another benefit of centre mounting is if you have a front passenger, they can also see the baby from the mirror if they turn their head. One position and both of us can see. When I'm driving with the wifey now I know I can focus 100% on the road and let her keep an eye on the little guy.

I'm stuck inside at the moment. Will post a couple pics of the setup and mirror brand later today when I get to the car.

: 6 months ago I was the exact same:

Wife: We should get a baby mirror for our cars.

Me: Dafuq?!?!? What the hell is that?

Wife: Explains what it is...

Me: "What a waste of $40, no chance I'm ever getting that, get one for yourself."

Fast forward 6 months:

Me: "Baby mirror is the best mod to date for my M3!!!"

Seriously, I couldn't live without one now. Tried for awhile, but it's too nerve racking when they go from crying to silent in a couple seconds. Now I can easy see if he's choking on a toy or just fell asleep without pulling over and jumping out of the car which is easier said than done when you're on the Autobahn.

ahhhhh-so
pretty sure these didn't exist when Poiseuille Jr was that age, or surely Mrs Poiseuille would have had one.

Do you also have the child seat in the middle or is it on one side and you just have the mirror angled so you can see? I hadn't thought about trying to mount it in the center.

Here are the pics as promised.

1st one showing how it's installed around the centre headrest. Took me literally 2 minutes to install.

2nd is the view from the driver's seat rear view mirror.

3rd is the view from the passenger's seat turning around.

Teddy Bear represents a miniature baby.

We bought the mirrors from "Cozy Greens". I think on Amazon, but not sure. My wife ordered them. Zero complaints or issues and I'd highly recommend it. I can't compare it to any others though as they are the only ones we've tried.

It's also a lot clearer and better quality plastic mirror. We purposely left the protective plastic cover on this one because we packed it overseas and didn't want it all scratched in the checked luggage. Once you remove the plastic cover it's 1000x better.

is the little one's car seat in the middle or on the passenger side? i have a convertible car seat on the passenger side. i bought one of those mirrors but obviously couldn't install it so its been sitting in the garage for a freakin year and a half. for the life of me i didn't even think about installing it in the center headrest due to my lack of common sense/intelligence. gonna have to try this out now.

and yes, post pictures as it will definitely help out.

Thanks for the photos! This is really helpful. I'm going to try the same thing in my car.

: 100% true!!!! I've heard that from so many people that that is the way it is!

It is way too funny and scary to realize just how similar people are in general and how you can tell what stage of life someone is in by small things. Single, Married, No Children, 1st Child, Family etc, etc.

I used a mirror with suction cups (if I recall correctly it was made by Brica) that I attached to the rear window when I had a rear facing car seat in the back.

^ this. It's funny how much useless crap you collect with the first. After you learn they're pretty indestructible. feed them, change them, give them shelter, and love them. everything else doesn't really matter.

I use this Greyjoy mirror, $20 and gets the job done on he center headrest. Similar to the one Rxpert is using.

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00GLFQLMO/

2nd kid seat is behind the driver seat, works fine and doesn’t obstruct view.

Hope it works for you. I mount mine upside down so it doesn't obstruct the rear view. When I need to check on the baby I have to crane my neck up a bit but it serves its purpose. Only need it till they are front facing.

I have two little ones and I never rocked a baby mirror there's no need for that unless you're a super helicopter parent. Sorry if that offends those with baby mirrors
