Now back to your question, I'd get the M6 no question.

1) Better interior and gadgets

2) More HP which is what you want

3) Looks meaner and more executive

4) Way better audio system from the factory, I believe its Bang & Olufsen or Bowers and Wilkins vs the mediocre Harman/Kardon system in the M4

5) Almost any one can afford an M4 so you'd see a lot of em but not many can afford an M6, even a used one taking into consideration the maintenance and whatnot
Almost anyone? I didn't know ALMOST anyone can afford a $750-1100 a month payment on a car.

sorry maybe I exaggerated a bit there but what I am trying to say is you see more M4s on the road than you see M6's if that matters

The car would be a daily driver, I wanted a comfortable daily driver that has alot of power. I plan to tune and downpipe whichever M I will get.

Coming from a 5 series, What do you guys think is better ? I havent driven any yet.

Budget - $60-100K
Weird I just had this choice today ... drove a 2018 with Comp pkg, exec, M perf exhaust and CF tips, DCT... white on black with the 19" wheels ... exactly how I was about to order one. Had my buddy with his 3yo kid in the back for input and to evaluate the rear seat utility (my kids were tied up). My buddy was bouncing all over the place and the car was busy while going over some pretty choppy sections of on-ramps and highway... got in the gran coupe (absolutely pristine inside and out.. with 33k miles, white leather, piano black interior ... I've seen cars on showrooms with more signs of wear ... not kidding!). The gran coupe (also CP, DCT, m perf exhaust, carbon ceramics, etc etc) was sooo much smoother over those sections. both sounded good... Perf exhaust on M3 is pretty much necessity after hearing it. M6 blew that away though, at least from outside the car (much more muffled inside).

Price wise they were almost identical. There are some less expensive GCs around but this car has a $165k sticker and was in such amazing shape I couldn't pass it up.

Rear seat comfort was marginally better in M3 for my 5'11" friend.

M3 is still more fun to whip around though since it's so much smaller, you really feel the M6's size but I'm okay with that. I do mostly highway driving now.

M3 looks more aggressive.

Used M6 will be loaded with goodies for the same price. Fantastic deal. You NEED to drive them back to back and go with your gut.

Good luck man, and don't lead with the "I'm super young" part next time if you want to avoid the judging and razzing.

Also consider M550i with a tune for usable, safe power in a really nice vehicle!

Man, first world problems for sure...

You want something "really, really fast" but not something with only a measly 450hp? And you want a "daily driver" ?

Go for a test drive...

If they had their way, I'd be driving a bright blue Ford Raptor .... turns out they do really like the M6 GC though. Their new favorite thing is having access to their one A/C controls

For this size of car and power level, I think the awd of rs7 and e63 are helpful.

It's not like these are lightweight cars anyway so rwd wouldn't be a priority for me

Another used car I'd check out is Alpina b7 xdrive. I think those also depreciate like crazy

I don't know how you plan to insure it (under parents or own insurance) but you should consider this factor also. Even if your income is high, you're still at a point in life where I'd suggest maximum savings regardless to secure your future. But I know you aren't here for financial advice so I'd recommend the M4 unless you prefer driving yachts

are you getting the car for yourself or to impress people.. no need to tell me but m4 if for yourself and m6 to impress stupid boys/ stupid girls . But like others have said you must have amazing cash flow why don't you get a r8 or something more exotic as they take care of the adrenaline and ego at the same time.

Not really a show off person, Geniuenly love bmws and love modifying cars all the way from exterior to performance to tiny bits of carbon fibre accents here n there. R8 or any exotic cars r really bumpy and really stiff which i cannot withstand. What im really looking for is looks and the best performance in terms of speed.

Hey man I can appreciate that, get a m4.
I personally love the m6 as well but i would be lying if i said it would look good on a 18-19 yr old.
while i wont recommend this top end gt class if your deadset on it consider 5.5 cls63 and rs7. cls63s might really suprise you its got airmatic and rides rly well and the 5.5 biturbo is a thug of a engine

Only has 450hp? Careful, I've seen wrecked Lambos driven by young rich kids who thought they could handle it. All that money doesn't buy skill. Take the M school. It's $1500 for one day and $4000 for the two day. It's cheaper than an "only 450hp" M4 wrapped around a pole. You plan on making the same amount of money while in college? Is your crypocurrency investment accessible? Hope you know how to swim.

BTW 2% is better than nothing, I'm sure it sounds like a lot to you, pulling $3-7k per sale, but how many houses are you flipping a month? I've got many colleagues who thought real estate was a sure thing. It's not. It's a lot of hard work. Be lucky you have no adult expenses like a mortgage.

18-19 years old and "wants to go as fast as possible". Yup, I anticipate an obituary pretty soon. Good luck kiddo.

Despite his chronological age - as inferred from the info in this thread - he seems to be more mature than many of the older folks who post here....

Doesn't mean it translates to maturity in driving. I'm sorry but savvy with real estate and crypto does not equal or surpass 10-15 years of driving experience in handling a 450hp+ car. Just saying. In fact some of the best race car drivers in history were just adult looking children. So....

A house a month usually. 4-5k In normal months and 7-9k on really good months. I have no expenses at all, Just $850 a month for my current 5 series which is financed and my food or whatever i eat outside so yeah everything goes to savings every single month.

But Yeah people told me to be careful of 450HP, I was thinking Catless dp and Rk tunes would give me 550hp atleast and thats quitw enough for new york city.

I was debating on either The M4 or M6. I d go for the M6 for the 570hp number and the front end looks, but than Bmw M4 is an all around nice looking car but it only has 450HP.

The car would be a daily driver, I wanted a comfortable daily driver that has alot of power. I plan to tune and downpipe whichever M I will get.

Coming from a 5 series, What do you guys think is better ? I havent driven any yet.

Budget - $60-100K

Yes I do plan on making money like this while im in college, payment for college really do not matter because I have $35,000 of scholarship and it will be there untill I keep 3.2+ GPA, my tuition is 37,000 so every year Im just paying $2k out of my pocket for a private school.

No intention on quitting college, hopefully a computer sci engineer one day!

Congrats Abran. I can tell by how calm and level headed you are in this thread that you are much more mature that other typical college age kids (or at least myself when I was in college) and know what you're doing. Keep doing what you're doing and sky's the limit for you.

Also, WRT M4 or M6, I've always loved the look of the M6 and if speed is ultimately your concern, the M6's twin turbo V8 gives it much more headroom than the M4. While M6 is much heavier, it starts out quicker and faster than the M4 and the gap only gets wider as you mod further (speaking primarily of straight line speed). If you throw twisties into the equation, M4 for sure due to lighter weight, better overall handling.

But, since you mentioned ride quality a few times, I think M6 would be more what you are looking for as it will ride better stock and also with suspension mods.
