I assume the following is a typo and that you mean calipers and not rotors? Surely the rotors aren't part of the hydraulic circuit on a brake system...
Another great question Boss!

While the rotors are not part of the hydraulic system, their effective diameter IS taken into account when calculating the proper piston sizes. When a larger rotor diameter (acting as a lever arm) is used, often times slightly less overall piston area is required to make adequate torque at that wheel. So while the rotors are not hydraulically actuated, their size does have a small effect on the design of the hydraulic components.

That makes sense. Since "torque = force x arm" you can adjust the force by going up or down on the piston diameter in the caliper (or of course by changing rotor diameter, or a combination).

Thanks for the info on what actually is basic knowledge and something I should have known (and which I learned in principle 20 years ago in engineering school...)

So I was able to obtain a set of these with the nickel plated option. They look fantastic and brake feel so far is very confidence inspiring. Haven't had a chance to take them on track yet.

They look great, looking forward to review once you get back from the track.

Replacement rotors for front and rear (and associated hardware for attaching to hat) are available? Cost for these?

Someone asked for weights awhile ago and I don't think that was every published. Are the Sparta brakes/rotor combo lighter than stock or heavier?

Sure, here's some numbers from our installations:

OEM Calipers
Front Caliper- 10.65lbs ea.
Rear Caliper - 8lbs ea.

OEM Rotors
Front Rotor - 24.4 lbs ea.
Rear Rotor - 20.4 lbs ea.

Sparta Calipers
Front 6 piston Caliper: 10lbs 1.8oz
Rear 4 piston Caliper: 7lbs 8oz

Sparta Rotors
Front Rotor 380x34: 26 lbs
Rear Rotor 380x34: 23.5 lbs

OEM rotor size
F: 380x30
R: 370x24

The real difference is in the thermal capacity of the rotors and calipers. Rotors are larger in thickness F&R and larger diameter in the rear, than OEM. This shows the difference in increased rotor weights. In addition to that, the F8x rotors are already "2 Piece", making it harder to reduce weight over something like that of a E9x one piece rotor.

Pricing includes hardware
Front Rings (pair): $970
Rear Rings (pair): $945

Let me know if you have any further questions.

Thanks, Tom. I think. This makes the decision between AP or Sparta less clear....

Do the calipers stay on the car for pad swaps? It shows the pins but that bridge looks fixed with that specialty ARP fastener.

Here are some pics of the bridge. Hopefully not too small.

Thanks for these. Do you happen to know if the bridge comes off for pad swaps, or does the whole caliper come off?

Not really sure, maybe I can reach the bolt head with a 1/4 8mm 12 point socket but I don’t have one on hand.
