Shipped from NJ VPC to Baltimore VPC?
Tomorrow marks two weeks ago that the W&W Theben steamed into NY harbor with my ED M3.
Its pretty much been sitting for tow weeks. Genius said they had a delay and it blew the ship date to my dealer of 10-21-16. No problem. Yesterday my CA told me that my car has left VPC in NJ and is now headed to Baltimore for final processing and then shipping to the dealer. This all sounds unconventional to me. I have never heard of or read on any forum that they move cars between VPC's. Does this mean the car was damaged? I'm not "that guy" that can't wait trust me. Things just aren't adding up and its made me curious. The dealer did say that their cars originate from the Baltimore VPC. In that event why did they drop my car at the NJ VPC? I thought maybe customs but every port has customs. |

Has your CA shown you the production status screen?
That seems unorthodox. The internal BMW website may not specifically note why it was moved between the two, though. If not PM your last 7. |

Not sure if this helps you but my car was also transported from NJ VPC to Baltimore VPC via train before being sent to my dealer. My situation was slightly different as my dealer traded for the car that was already in route to the NJ VPC but like your situation, my local dealers cars originate from the Baltimore VPC
Hope you get answers soon! |

Same thing happened to my car and delayed delivery by about one week. No idea why but it seems this is relatively common...

This is also happening with my car. From conversations with BMW Genius, it seems to be a tactic used by the transportation company to keep costs down. In my case, it was routed to Galveston so it can be loaded along with other cars onto a truck that will take them to my dealer...

Monday morning BMW Genius (the ultimate oxymoron) told me that my car was still in Baltimore and they had assigned a shipping company but they had not yet picked the car up at the VPC. My CA texted me at 5:00 and said that my car just rolled in on a car carrier.
BMW NA website says my car is still getting "Finishing Touches". I picked my car up Monday night at 7:30. I am delighted to have it. BMW NA has done nothing to impress me or strengthen brand loyalty. |

I just called BMW Genius-- my car arrived in NJ Wed July 19 at around midnight and unloaded during the day on Thurs July 20. Car is still listed in Customs but is estimated to arrive at NJ VPC today (Fri July 21). But the Genius says the schedule estimates the car to arrive at Baltimore VPC on July 28 (next Fri) then will be shipped to the dealer. I was hoping to have the car by next Friday/
