"Full" Individual (custom exterior and/or interior bits) MY18 orders check-in
Curious where folks' production weeks are slotted.
I've got a '18 M3 allocation with an order approved for Santorini Blue scheduled for Week 33 production (the week of August 14th). Was at status 102 for a week or so, then I believe switched to 112 this week. This was originally a June allocation for an '18, so one of the earlier ones. It was originally scheduled for production this week, but got pushed out several weeks when the request for a special order color was approved. |

We just ordered an Atlantis Blue Metallic F80. Week 30 build. Waiting to hear on the push back once our color gets the official green light. Doing ED in December.

I was told that my preferred Individual interior color (Amaro Brown, one of the preapproved choices in the ordering guide) would surprisingly push my build week from 29 to 35. Ended up changing to Sakhir Orange instead in order to accommodate my early Aug ED date.

Definitely 112 status now. Production week is Week 33 (Aug 14th). Seems to be holding. *fingers crossed*.
Santorini Blue F80 coming soon . I posted this elsewhere, but good info for folks doing these orders, as it's imperative that you keep an eye on your own order with your CA to be sure no mistakes are made, as this is a very manual process unfortunately... Make sure you ask for a printout of your VIR (Vehicle Inquiry Report) on a monthly basis just to be sure that the configuration is exactly what you want and has not changed. On your VIR, if your Sub. Notes say SPECIAL ORDER: 490 - (YOUR COLOR) $4735 W / $5200 R (pricing can vary) - MM/DD/YY MCM, you are good to go. On the VIR, the list of options will show "Special Order Color" and the pricing will be "Blocked". Once the vehicle enters production (status 150), the color will be updated to reflect the one in the "Sub. Notes" and the pricing will show up correctly as well. Until status changes to 150, the "Sub. Notes" is the only area on the VIR that will show your color, so make sure it is correct! MCM are the initials of the lone person in charge of the VIP (BMW Individual) ordering program in North America. That means she has reviewed it and submitted the color to BMW AG. Status 102 is also reflective of that. Status will go "backwards" on an existing allocation that was modified for any vehicles with true Individual (special order) paint or interior options. Often it will go from Status 112 or 114 back to 102. It will stay at 102 for a week or two until it is approved by BMW AG and scheduled for production again. BMW Genius (844-443-6487) or BMWNA (800-831-1117) will be able to give you the Week # that it is scheduled to move in to production. If they don't, HACA (hang up, call again). Some reps are more skilled than others at the nuances of BMW's order status system. They will caveat that it can change (which it can and often does). Do not rely on the automated status hotline, or BMW's website, to provide you with accurate vehicle status info. These systems either lag behind by several days, or are flat out inaccurate. Speak to a human. Also, for anyone who wants port-installed (PIA) options, your CA can add them to your order AFTER production has started (once the car changes to status 150). They will not be able to beforehand. PIA (port installed options) are able to be added/changed once the vehicle enters production. PIA options are not available for ED vehicles. Also, with rare exception, once an Individual color/interior is approved and scheduled for production, the order is not modifiable, so be CERTAIN you are happy with all the options you have selected when you submit the order, because they aren't going to be able to be changed without involvement from BMWNA to do it (i.e. Your CA won't be able to do it themselves. It's not impossible to change options, but it is not easy, and there is a hard cutoff date (called an Individual Block Date) after which no changes are allowed, period). I hope everyone else's orders are also progressing along nicely. Last edited by TonySCV; 07-17-2017 at 11:54 AM.. |

You should try and get this write up of yours added to the "Ordering and Tracking Guide" sticky. It has been really helpful to me and I am sure lots of others. |

FYI:
For Individual Manufaktur interiors, once you get your VIN you can double-check that your Individual work order is correct before your car is taken to Garching for fitment. Use one of the online VIN decoders that show the complete VIN database content (not all VIN decoders show the complete VIN database content) for a copy of the work order. If anything is incorrect then you may have time to contact Individual directly for a correction. Very important if you are doing ED and want no surprises at the Welt. Your Individual work order should look like this (after Google translate): Quote:

Hey Tony, I was in 102 for nearly 3 weeks, moved to 111 on Monday. Called Genius about 10 minutes ago and was told my car is in production today... skipped 112 altogether. Estimated completion August 9th, wooohoooo
