Is BMW still producing the F80? Update: Production through at least 7/18

FYI, seems like the F80 is done for in Germany. Not available to configure anymore on the website and others claim that it's not possible to order it because of the particle filter.

I was trying to get an F80 allocation, but my SA said it was a hail marry. In parallel I was kicking the tires on a C63S with 7800mi on it. C63S: interior is MUCH nicer IMO. That V8, can't say enough about the sound and power. Really impressive. The infotainment interface blows though. I'm missing iDrive. Suspension is really stiff, and combined with the AMG sport seats, makes for a pretty brutal ride. So far lots of fun, but we'll see how it fairs after a few months.

C63S is a beautiful car. Only reason I don't consider the C63 and the RS5 is because my "fun" car needs to be stick. Other than that, it's awesome competition out there!!

Some new info for you guys, my M3 got delayed, I was moved up from week 23 to week 25 production, so mid June. This delay happened in the last few days, I just finished a conversation with the genius.

As of last week my F80 SO/CSAT 6MT showed scheduled for week 23 but then it suddenly went into production his week! I've never had that happen before, but I'll take it.

My dealer told me he can order a ED F80 M3.... he had an allocation.. but then when i pushed and pressed him about it.. he said oo oo we are waiting for an allocation.. but he wants to take a deposit from me and order the car??

But he doesnt have a allocation currently?

Every dealer does this. Don't do it.

And if you do it, put an AMEX down.

Every dealer does this. Don't do it.

And if you do it, put an AMEX down.

Yea im with u.. i was suppose to go back in at the end of the week, but it seems like a waste of my time and a waste if my moneys time..

Ha. Yep. That's a pretty standard dealer tactic (trick?). I ran into about 7 different variants of that exact story (trick??) while searching for an allocation before I found one.

From what a dealer told me yesterday. There are 4 allocations left in the whole nation..

Just while i was writing this post.. BMW genius just told me they have stopped production of the M3 sedan officially for the US. Only the M3 CS is now being produced.

If you are serious about it, IMHO, put the deposit down. in a month with no allocation you'll get the deposit back, and don't tell me you could buy Bitcoin with that money and double it in a month.

Kicking tires at this stage won't get you no allocation for sure, I'd rather get myself a chance how little that may be.
