Why the hell BMW rolled up the LED headlight with exec pack? I don't want that sh*t. I didn't see the black ZCP wheels either.

Correct but if you consider that the exec pack is only $2100 compared to almost $4k as it was and the lighting package was always $1900 it ends up being a steal, especially since the exec pack has HUD, PDC and a few other goodies it.

New M4 LCI Head Lights w/Exec. Pkg Only??

I was messing around on BMWUSA.com configurator and it seems you can only get the new Hex style headlights on the M4 with the $2,100 Executive Pkg... WTF

I thought new lights were gonna be standard. Should have known better than that I suppose.

Anyone know if the lights will be a cheaper stand alone option.

The only thing about the Executive pkg that even remotely interest me is HUD, but only barely at that...

I guess you have not been following what's been going around. It's been know for quite a while that bi_LEDs with similar look to the outgoing xenon are standard and that the new look adaptive full LED are optional. The good news, is that in the US, they are included in the exec package, which brings quite a lot of value in that package for a mere $2100USD. In Canada, we still have to pay $2000CAD for just the full LED as a stand alone option, or need to get the $9500CAD premium/exec package combo to get the full LED.

Thanks for the info CanAut. I check this board often but I must have missed the posts about the lighting info.

I tried a few searches on the topic as well but I find the search function on this board to be ineffective.

Do you happen to have a link for relevant lighting discussions?

The lighting package alone was almost $2k previously. The new option grouping and pricing is a much better deal.

Yeah the more I think about it the more I see the value. I guess I am just getting over the fact that I thought those new lights were standard...

What are people's thoughts on those other features of the Executive Pkg?

I've never had any of them so maybe I don't know what I'm missing...

I don't have the parking assistant on my car, but the other features are great. The HUD is very useful. I had one on my Corvette and was kind of on the fence about it until I got the car, now I love it. The integration with the navigation system, sounds system, etc. is very cool. I am also a huge fan of the side and top view cameras. While not strictly necessary, they help alleviate some stress while maneuvering tight spots or coming out of parking garages. Just be glad you didn't have to pay extra for a backup camera like most of us did.

It really is a steal. The old executive package really ticked me off because of all the stuff I didn't want, like the heated stearing wheel, and the associated cost. $2,100 gives you a whole lot for sure with the new arrangement.

Thanks for the insights Rob.
I think its a case of I don't know what I don't know because I have never had any of those features on a car before...

I agree! The repackaging of the Executive Package has much more value for the money. My 2016 M4 has pretty much everything except the CCBs and ZCP, and identically configured, a 2018 M4 comes to a little over $2000 less! But that's with the Heated Steering Wheel, so without that, it comes to $2,300 less.

So what are the differences in Canada for the 2018 vs 2017's in terms of packages?

Not much difference, from what I gather.

Only difference I notice is backup camera that was part of premium package is now standard and storage compartment package (nets in the trunk) that was standard is now part of the premium package. That's it.

So we are getting a base price hike but no added value.

I wasn't going to get the Exec pack, so all the stuff I'm forced to buy for $200 more than the LED lights alone were, are useless to me. Add complexity and weight to the car and will have to fix if something goes wrong. It's stupid.

• Side and Top View Cameras

• Speed Limit Info

• Head-up Display

• Parking Assistant

• Icon Adaptive Full LED Headlights

• Automatic high beams

• Park Distance Control

Does that mean the red stitch isn't offered standard but rather has to be a full-on individual (read: $$$) order? If yes then that earlier photo was a bit misleading. I'd go golden brown if I can't get red stitch without paying $8k or something crazy.
I don't think this changed from previous years but with the change in executive package I wonder what it does to the individual contrast stitching. You use to get a discount on the contrast stitching with the old executive pack I believe saving something like $300 or $400 off the $2,300 price of individual contrast stitching

I do and it's just eh. Basically I never use it because I"m in the habit of looking over my shoulder anyway and it's really not that bright.

I actually didn't even remember I had it for the first year I owned the car - not kidding. It was only after some post on here that I said, "heeeyyy didn't I buy that?" Then I saw it. I thought it was broken.

For my next car I'm thinking of getting the cubby as I don't ever use any of that stuff.

It actually saved my ass during our Euro Delivery the first time I went to merge onto the Autobahn. I turned my head to look, didn't see anything, and then the triangle starting blinking and the wheel shook. I slowed down and merged in behind a car that was in my blind spot. I'm in the habit of checking my blind spot, but this was a brand new car that I wasn't familiar with. I also have the power rear sunshade and that may have contributed to my failure to see the car in the right lane. I don't often drive in rush hour or bumper-to-bumper traffic, but I still use it as a confirmation when I want to change lanes. I find it useful.

Nice, the option paid for itself many times over for you within short time!
