In Australia the M4 CS price has been cut by ~$16K USD
http://www.caradvice.com.au/609157/2...ricing-slashed
Equal to a $US 16k drop This sucks if you just bought one - BMW need to stop doing this shit - it's going to give them a bad reputation. |

on F80 LCI 1.0 for example, BMW Australia reduced the price by around 30k and threw pretty much every option at them (only options here are ceramics, rear blind, tv, rear heated seats, self parking, heated wheel) - sucked back then for early adopters who paid around 170-180k for a well optioned first gen car, but for us buying now we get a fully optioned car for 130-140k, and it's actually a relatively cheap car in our market for what you get BMW Aus may have just realised at the 11th hour the platform isn't strong enough to charge +70k for a CS over a mechanically identical M4 Competition our market has little to no impact on rest of world, our importer box moving fees typically increase prices above your US rrp, and that's before we start loading tax upon tax (10% + 10% + ~33%) there are exceptions, we have a free trade deal with US made products, so the latest jeep trackhawk for example has landed at 140k, and that's basically on parity with US pricing, this is commendable by FCA Aus Last edited by domino_z; 12-13-2017 at 06:51 PM.. |

My understanding is in this instance, BMW Australia was going to amend the price for existing pre-orders as well as now forward, so hopefully nobody gets hit too badly.
I think it's actually a pretty good price given the spec. Wouldn't have considered a CS at the original price, but would at this price. |

On the same topic, some guy bought a BMW M4 CS here in Dubai, drove it for about 1000 miles then sold it back to the dealership who then initially advertised it as a CPO for USD 149K then dropped it down to USD 123K after 1 day. This is the car: https://dubai.dubizzle.com/motors/us...Lw%3D%3D&pos=2
Now what makes me wonder is why would someone buy such a car and sell it back to the dealership after only driving it for about a 1000 miles? seems like maybe he discovered that it isn't worth it as a daily driver with no arm rest, no Harman/Kardon Sound system, no climate control, etc. for the premium he paid. Just my guess. IMO, these are purely track cars just like the GTS but the standard M4 especially with the Competition Pack is the better all rounder striking the perfect balance between being a powerful car yet luxurious and full of tech wise to be a daily driver.

I agree. Its waste of money if you will end up selling within few weeks/months. I guess some are not sure unless they go through experiences

So the CS is overpriced like the GTS....or at least so far in Australia.

gts is/was a 300k car here in aus
that's used 991.1 gt3 money unless you're a diehard bmw fanboy or already have a gt3, i can't see how anyone would choose it as a track/hardcore road car over a gt3 |

That is where I believe BMW failed, offering a product that does not quite stack up performance wise, sacrifices the DD practicality that could have been a differentiator and put at the same price point as the GT3. No wonder they are sitting on dealer lots.

Same thing probably will happen with the “limited production” M3CS. Even worse with the M4CS (as many as they can make in the next 2 to 3 years). |

Yep if you were buying one to collect/speculate you're actually better off with the DTM as they made 100 fewer globally - same mechanicals as gts
As a car collector/speculator I was offered a new DTM at quite a discounted price but at last minute changed my mind as I don't think the brand has the ability to pull off an appreciating asset - arguably one of the most sought after M cars, the E46 CSL is only now more than a decade later fetching what they were worth new I ended up just buying a gts hood for my zcp daily lol |

But if it's just hot money chasing a quick buck then yes BMW not the brand to speculate in. In the UK dealers are offering 10k off the M4 CS as they can't shift them, it's just too expensive.
