What do you guys think about the changes they have planned for the next model?

We don't even have specs for the G series yet, only spy shots and speculation.

What worries me is the talk about “mild hybridisation”.

That will be an abomination! Then again the current M3 is the size of my old e39 so as the 3 series gets bigger and powerful, their target market will move along as well.

As for mild hybridization, they say 1/5th of the cars in 5-7 years will have a 48 volt system at very least, so no a surprise at all.

Well I was biased to the Audi S4, but I don’t think I can live without a MT.

I would never buy the first year of the car so I wouldn't buy the new gen until maybe 2021 or 2022. It's up to you if you can wait that long.

Isn't the G series out in 2020?

If you were me would you wait for the 2020 model instead of getting a 2018?

In some respects I feel as though the interior is dated, but I love the exterior.

There most likely isn't gonna be a 2020 M3. More like 2021

Agree with this.
Maybe BMW will ditch DCT and go with ZF 8 speed auto.. But I think it will come with MP xDrive as current G90 M5 does and this will certainly help us North ppl living with snow pile at least 6 month period every year around.

I personally do not want to see any weight gain on G80/82 due to this xDrive feature, hopefully they can strip things down to go relatively around same weight figure as F80/82....

I also wish BMW keeps DCT and offer 6MT as well...

I think the F8X interior is solid if you spec it with full leather.

It's not at the cutting edge of design, but will stand the test of time - like a well cut grey suit.

Some interiors are trendy or on the cutting edge of design but will not age well.
